Kidnap My Heart - Epilogue
Five years later.....
~*~EPILOGUE~*~
"Mommy, mommy look at this!!" a little boy said as he ran toward Ivy. He held a tiny dinosaur on his chubby hand and waved it around. Ivy bent over and looked at him with a smile. "That's cute, who's it from?" Ivy said as she held the boy's open hand. He giggled, his deep brown eyes glittering with happiness. "Daddy gave it to me!! Isn't it cool??" he said as he jumped up in down in the grass. She laughed and gave him a kiss on his red matted hair. "Yeah Parker, it is." Ivy said as she scooped him up and carried him. They stayed out in the warm sunny weather and Ivy heard loud crying along with soothing hushing. Ivy looked up and saw Avery holding their 3 month old baby, Olivia. Parker smiled wide and wiggled in his mother's arms. He ran loose and walked up to his dad. Avery bent over and showed Parker his little sister. Parker placed a finger on her cheek and she cooed lightly. Olivia opened her eyes showing their bright green luminescence. Ivy watched from afar and smiled. This was how everything turned out to be. Her love for Avery was growing each day. It had been 5 years since they had decided to bury the hatchet and restart everything.
Her dad had tried to make up with her and they had tried to make things work. Her parents had both talked to each other after 15 years. They talked things out and they learned to understand each other better. Avery and her had gotten married and now had two kids. Seeing Avery in this scene made her feel as if it wasn't real. To her, it was just a dream. He was just an amazing dream to her. But luckily for her, he wasn't. He was her reality and her happiness. Avery walked toward her slowly and she felt her heart flutter. The image of the kids and their father were still finding a way in her mind. Avery handed her Olivia and Ivy grasped her baby close. Parker opened his arms wide and begged his dad to carry him. Avery smiled at this demand and hoisted the boy up. Avery leaned down to his wife and gave her a lingering kiss. He didn't know the events in their shaky lifestyle would end this way. It seemed too perfect. When Parker was older, he would explain how he broke his mother's heart and how stupid his mistakes were. Even his little angel Olivia would hear of the tale.
He hoped with all his being that the boys in her life would be less stubborn unlike him. She deserved the best in everything. The sound of it the young boy saying daddy, with his big brown eyes glimmering, made Ivy question everything. Now, standing face to face with it all made her understand the truth. This was how it was supposed to be. She tried to think she hadn't run away from things but it was true, she had. In the end running away was from something important. It was from the things she never imagined could happen to her. That was why she ran. She was scared and didn't want things to turn out just as her parents relationship had. She and Avery were stubborn and it was a crime worth so much. They took turns stealing each other's hearts but in the end, it was meant to be for the other.
"STOP!! Daddy!!! Emma took my dolly!!" a shrill voice screamed. It was the reunion of the unusual group. It had been nearly 8 years since Ivy and Avery had gotten through the last hurdle and Mason and Julia were married. Mason and Julia had twin daughters, Emma and Rainey. They were both 7 and at the most obnoxious stage of their lives. Mason was worried boys, like him at one point, would have made moves on his daughters. Julia had told him that he didn't have to worry about that till they reached 10 but he had sworn it was starting now. Evelyn and Nate had two boys so far. Their names were Xavier and Chase. To Ivy, their names were prim and proper. Nothing like their parents. Xavier was 6 and Chase was 5. They had been exact copies of their father and Ivy knew they were going to break hearts. Chris and Crystal were engaged and happier than ever. Sunny had found a suitable man for her and oddly enough Ryan was the man for Sunny. "Okay, give it back to her Em." Mason said in a fatherly tone. Ivy couldn't help but giggle as she heard this and Mason gave her a cold glare as she pulled the girls away from each other. "Not helping Ives." He said with a groan. She smiled and carried Emma on her shoulder. "Don't take your sister's doll.
Auntie Ivy will buy you one, but you have to promise you won't steal Rainey's doll. Got it?" Ivy said with a grin. The little girl smiled widely and nodded. Ivy let the girl down and she ran away to her mom. "Wasn't that nice? At least now they're gonna get spoiled off you. Jules and I are losing money." Mason said with a grin. Parker walked up to her and frowned visibly. In his hand, a half-eaten lollipop stood proudly and the obvious cause to the young boy's distress. "M-my l-lolli-lollipo-p, Daddy ate it." he said as tears started to fall. Ivy pulled the boy toward her and her friends laughed. "Aw sweetheart. Daddy's a bully. Uncle Mason over there will buy you a ton of them don't worry. Now don't cry." she said as she held the boy against her. The young boy sniffled lightly and nodded dejectedly. He ran off and all the children left the room slowly. The room had consisted of Mason, Julia, Sunny, Ryan, Evelyn, Nate, Crystal, Chris, Lila, and her boyfriend. "So Ivy, where is your bully of a husband?" Nate asked with a grin. Ivy sighed and blushed lightly. Even if it had been quite a while, the word husband sounded so foreign to her. "Talking behind my back now? Won't you ever grow up Nathaniel?" Avery said as he walked in. Nate shook his head and brought his drink to his lips. "Live a little Avery. Life's too short." Nate said as Avery walked to Ivy.
He sat next to her unceremoniously and she climbed onto his lap. His arm snaked its way across her waist and he held her tightly. Ivy turned and looked at him wistfully. "Parker came here crying because you ate his lollipop." Ivy said as he nuzzled her shoulder. "I'll buy him another one?" he said against her shoulder. She smiled and slapped him lightly. "You made my baby cry." She said harshly. Avery adjusted her on his lap and she wrapped her arms around him tightly. "I'm getting the feeling that now that I'm a dad it's my fault if something like that happens." Avery said as he gave her a small smile. Ivy shook her head and heard heavy footsteps hurry into the room. "Mommy mommy!! I think I'm in love!!" Rainey said as she ran to Julia. Ivy felt Avery laugh against her and she heard the others laugh along. Mason shook his head and groaned loudly. "Sweetheart, don't do this to daddy.
You fall in love when you're in high school or college or when you turn 30, not at 7." He growled lightly. Julia laughed and held the young girl close. "With whom honey?" Julia asked with a smile. Rainey jumped up and down and smiled wide. "With Xavier!! He likes apples, the color blue, sunsets and he loves me back!!! We like the same things!!" the young girl screamed loudly. Mason gave Nate a hostile look pulled his little girl away from her mother. "Love later. For now just live like a normal little girl." Mason said as the girl walked away. The room burst into laughter and Ivy smiled widely. "Overprotective daddy." Nate said with a devilish grin. Ivy grinned and realized everything was going to repeat itself. This was her life now. It was what she had always wanted. The laughter and smiles grew with each day. Their hearts were at peace and their only worries were if tomorrow would have been as amazing as that exact moment.
