Kidnap My Heart - Chapter Twenty

Getting rid of her problems.. The easiest way....
Ivy felt herself almost collapse as she entered her car. Her emotions had finally clashed and she felt as if it was too hard to handle. She drove away and headed to her house. As she neared the house she had changed her mind. This home was not an option at the moment. She groaned and her tears spilled once again. She didn't know what to do. Her head was bursting in pain and she felt her eyes sting. She decided to leave tomorrow. She couldn't take it anymore. She thought it was just problems with her dad but now Avery was an addition. She parked in front of the house and sat in the car, staring at the house. This was practically her last day and yet she didn't think she'd last. Her mind was overflowing with mixed emotions and she didn't know what she wanted to happen. When it came to these things, she was always prepared. Now it felt as if she had been blindsided. She didn't want to fall off the face of her friend's world and yet she knew she had to. She couldn't say goodbye again. It was too late.Since Crystal was still there, they'd be able to talk to her and ask about Ivy's whereabouts if she needed them to. She would be back for Julia and Mason's wedding within the next month. She had made up her mind but at the moment she couldn't deal with this. She needed a drink, or three.

She raced her car into the slowly slumbering town and viewed the main street for a local bar. She took note of The Silvers Bar that was at a busy corner. She parked her car and exited her car quickly. She briskly walked into the bar. When she walked in, the smell of smoke plagued her instincts. She heard low mumbling from different parts of the bar and glasses clinking lightly. She walked towards the counter and sat on an open stool. Familiar faces watched her and their gazes lingered a little more than once. The bartender turned to her and it turned out to be Teddy Johnson. He turned to her and his dark green eyes sparkled. His dirty blonde hair looked disheveled and yet put a dangerous edge to him. "I didn't think I'd see you here." Teddy chuckled as he gripped onto the glass counter. Ivy shrugged and leaned against her arm. "That's interesting. I didn't think I'd see you here either." Ivy said with a dull smile. Teddy eyed her suspiciously and looked at her seriously. "Something happen? Another breakup with a cheating boyfriend?

Maybe you came here to accept my date that I offered you?" Teddy said with a sweet smile. Ivy laughed lightly and beamed at him. "No boyfriend cheating on me and sadly I can't accept your date. I leave tomorrow and there are still a lot of things I left undone. It's just the same old stuff you know. Just Avery Warren and my parents. Well more of my dad than my mom." Ivy said with a sigh. Teddy nodded and sighed as well. "Well the whole class thought you and Avery were meant to be. Maybe you are and you just have to go through that last hurdle before it works out completely. Right now, I think you could use a drink. What do you prefer?" Teddy said as he waved to the shelves of liquor. "Apple Martini please." Ivy said with a vague smile. Teddy smiled and rushed away. Ivy sat and her thoughts floated around. Teddy's comment about Avery and her floated around in her mind. Were they really meant to be? She didn't think so but inside her there was a spark of contentment that he had said so. She heard a glass clink onto the counter in front of her and she was pulled back to reality. Teddy placed the sweet smelling drink in front of her and eyed her carefully. "I knew you drank girly drinks like that. Can't hold your alcohol?" he said with a teasing smile. Ivy rolled her eyes and took a sip of her drink.

"Teddy, what do you mean by Avery and I being meant for each other?" Ivy asked with a confused look. Teddy sighed and shook his head. "You don't know? I thought you would know since you're a girl and all that romance crap just flows out of you. I guess it's because you guys are so uncoordinatedly perfect for each other. It's hard to explain but all I can say is that the both of you will get through it." Teddy said with a satisfied smile. Another customer walked up to the counter and Teddy left her for lingering minutes. Her mind was set on Avery and all the possibilities but it was hopeless. She almost forgot it was him who broke it off. She had so many hopes and dreams for the both of them but she knew it wasn't only up to her. Avery didn't want her. Crystal had also told Ivy he had a girlfriend back in Boston. Why had she thought it was going to work the way she had wanted? She was being delusional and too much of a dreamer. It was a dangerous combo but she couldn't help it. She promised herself to give up and she knew it would be worth it in the end when she was done with the emotional pain. She picked up her drink and chugged it without thinking. She felt the wooziness she had intended to feel after 3 or 4 drinks kick in. She felt her body become less tense. She called Teddy over and within moments she had 4 more drinks.
