Kidnap My Heart - Chapter Fourteen
Ivy talks to Ryan for the first time in months... Thanks for the comments...
Days passed and suddenly Ivy only had less than 2 weeks left. She spent her time with her mom and didn't think about even trying to talk to her dad again. Nothing seemed to change. When she got the chance she spent time with her friends at the old diner. She didn't open up much about her life and she just listened in on what they wanted to do. Ivy had locked herself in her room more than once to just look back at her old belongings. She had found her old diary which she started writing in her first year of high school and finished the last entry by the end of senior year. It was mostly about her inner thoughts which she had never shared with anyone. It went from how much pain she was going through when it came to her parents to how much she had liked certain guys. She read through the diary over and over again and it showed her how much of a normal girl she proved to be, besides her relationship with her parents.
She felt like such a girly girl when she read about how a guy made her feel. After she read her diary, she would throw it under her bed. When she had about a week and a half left she got a call from Ryan. She was caught off guard and yet she saw it coming at one point. She hesitated to answer but knew she needed to. "What Ryan?" she said harshly. She heard him chuckle slightly and she winced slightly. The guy had always had effect on her and she couldn't deny it. "Hello to you too love. I was just making sure you were doing alright." He said playfully. Ivy held the phone and ran down to the living room where Crystal and her mom were. She ran to turn off their TV and placed her phone on speaker. "Well I'm doing great. What else do you want?" Ivy seethed into the phone. He laughed humorlessly and sighed. "I don't want anything sweetheart. Just wanted to see how you are. It's been awhile since we talked." He said simply. Ivy looked up at Crystal and her mom who had smiles plastered on their faces.
She smiled back and replied, "Well you know how I am already. If you anything else to say I'm listening." Ivy said knowingly. She heard him sigh through the phone. She smiled and looked at her mom again who smiled sweetly. "Ives can we give us another try? I... Well I really did love you, I think I still do, and I still want to try us out. You didn't give me a chance to see what I did wrong." Ryan said in a whisper. Crystal and April were on their toes and practically giggling as they listened in on Ivy's conversation. Ivy felt herself blush "Wow. Look Ryan can we talk about this when I get back to LA? I really don't want to have this conversation on the phone." Ivy said with a sigh. She heard his slow breathing through the phone accompanied with a sigh. "Alright Ives. I'll wait for you." Ryan said roughly. Ivy ended the call and plopped herself onto the couch.
She stared at the phone for some lingering minutes and jumped up suddenly. "Why the hell is he calling now and saying he loves me? I ended it before it could start because he was the one who told me commitment was too exhausting! I even told all the people here that it was because of my commitment issues not his and now he wants back in? He sure has some balls." Ivy said furiously. Crystal tried to think of what to say but nothing came up. Ivy groaned and pulled her hair gently. "What am I going to do? I want to give him a chance but things are getting too complicated... Maybe I should just end it completely next time I see him." Ivy whispered dully. They sat in a deafening silence and Ivy felt her mind melt into a puddle of goo. "Is that really what you want?
To just drop him out of your life forever? I mean the guy called and said he loved you, that doesn't happen often." April questioned. Ivy looked up at her and frowned. "Why not? We weren't right for each other anyway and even if he still loves me it seemed over before it started." Ivy said bitterly. April shrugged dismissively and looked over at Crystal. "Well do what you want Ives. I know you want a steady boyfriend already and I know Ryan isn't the best choice for it. The time's ticking on you love clock though." Crystal said perceptively. Ivy groaned silently. "Thanks for the reminder." Ivy said annoyed and they sat in their cozy living room watching yet again another soap opera.
