Khloe Kardashian to Marry L.A. Lakers Lamar Odom
Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are reportedly planning a wedding that is to take place before he has to leave to start the basketball season.
In the world of pseudo-celebrities, the super quick wedding is a tried and true method for ensuring some easy headlines and a quick boost in popularity. There will certainly be some tabloids willing to get some exclusive pictures of whatever disaster Kardashian and Odom throw together as a wedding, so some cash is in it as well.
Apparently, Khloe and Lamar have been dating about a month, after meeting at a party thrown by Ron Artest. What better way to start a relationship than through a gathering thrown by one of the most stable and well-adjusted professional athletes in the world today.
Depending on how the wedding goes and assuming the honeymoon and following weeks are managed, Kardashian will likely be court-side for most, if not all, of the Lakers' home games this season. That alone should be enough to keep her comfortably in the spotlight. Then, when she and Odom break up, which is inevitable, she'll have a renewed run of interest from the tabloids. Of course, public interest may start to drop off at that point.
Odom, of course, will be on television for most of the next nine months as he plays for the world-champion Los Angeles Lakers. Early word is that Heidi and Spencer Montag-Pratt may be presiding over the nuptials. Just kidding.
