Key - Chapters 6 to 10

Big surprise... Pic of Daxen.
Chapter 6

Hearing my mum walk out and close the door I decided to have a shower, when I looked down at my clothes and realized I was really dirty. Glancing up at the mirror an almost unrecognizable me was looking back. An almost crazed look on my face, with dirt smeared across my face, clothes and hands. Twigs and leaves in my hair.

Walking down the hall and into the kitchen after the shower I almost screamed at the sight I saw. There sitting on the kitchen bench was Jace. His features were to die for. Last time I had seen him I didn't notice anything other than he was pretty much a human wall of muscle. He had facial features any person would kill for; his eyes were a midnight blue with an amazing dark green ring surrounding his iris.

Jace got off the beach and started walking towards me. Every step he took I would take one step bake until I hit the wall. Standing with my back to the wall he kept taking steps towards me. He stopped when he was standing so close to me I could feel his body heat.
Sounding very annoyed, "I really don't like it when I'm left in the middle of nowhere with dirt in my eyes and half a concussion."

Chapter 7

I swallowed my fear and started to get angry, "Well I'm the one who has been assaulted in a forest, been chased, locked in the boot of a car and tackled to the ground so you don't think you should be angry in the one who has the fucking excuse to be angry."

Looking offended, "So it wasn't my fault, Daxen decided he wanted to kill you."
"Well, why was I out in the forest anyway? I don't even know why I was out there."
I could see Jace was thinking really hard but I just couldn't help myself. "Why was I out there? Answer the question." My voice getting louder and louder until I was yelling at him.

"Well... I Ah... I..."
"Well spit it out. I'm waiting."
"I... I can't tell you."
"Yes! But Ah I can." The voice came from behind Jace, it sounded really familiar.
Not even taking a glance or even turning around Jace said, "What are you doing here Daxen? I told you to go home."

"Yeah so! I saw the stupid bitch bet you up and get away with some other little brown-haired slut. You didn't even fight back."
"I don't really like hitting girls. Especially when Rick needs them."
"Who's Rick?" I asked without even thinking.

"Ahhh she speaks." Each word that came out of Daxen's mouth was practically dripping with sarcasm, I surprised he hasn't drowned in it yet...
Jace moved to stand next to Daxen and face my direction. I noticed they had the same eyes and build. Thinking they were brothers but a loud explosion stopped my thoughts. I looked around and then back to the boys and noticed that Jace was missing.

Chapter 8

Feeling a cold shiver rattle through me. My thoughts caught up with me and I was alone and in a room with Daxen who had tried to kill me not even a few hours ago. I glanced at him; he stared back and gave me a smile. A smile that had danger written all over it.

He took a step towards me. At that moment I jumped on to the coffee table picked up a vase and threw it as hard as I could at him. He actually caught it in his hand. I knew he wasn't paying any attention at me anymore he was playing with the vase, throwing it in the air and breaking little pieces off it. I lent down and picked up a sharp rock that was on the table and threw it as hard as I could at him. Hitting Daxen in the head he fell to the floor with a dull thud unconscious.

The sound of Daxen hitting the floor made me feel sick. I jumped off the coffee table and ran for the door throwing it open and running out into the hallway felt like deja-vu. Instead of running outside and on to the road I cut across the yard and hid in a little bush. It was where I used to hide when I was a kid; if I were upset, in trouble, or didn't want to talk to anyone I would hide in the bush. It was practically a mound of leaves that had a little hole in the middle big enough for one a small person and the leaves were dense so they covered me quite well.

Chapter 9

Hiding place...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Feeling tiredness creep up on me I lay down on the soft leaves, curled into a ball, closed my eyes and drifted away. I was so far gone I hadn't realized people were standing next to the bush.
"Jace can you sense her or not?" Daxen sounded really pissed.
"NO!" Yelling the word with such annoyance. I could tell he was clearly lying because I was lying right there and every time Daxen would look away, Jace would glance at me.
"She's a slippery bitch. Whatever she probably went back into the forest. You can find her I wanna go home."

"Yea, just because you got knocked out this time. Tell Rick that I'll be their sometime tonight."
"Sure whatever." Already walking away and not caring at all.
I just stayed there not moving as Jace just stood there watching Daxen go for roughly ten minutes.
"Ok! You can come out now. He's gone."
"What does he mean sense? And who's Rick?" Again he didn't answer. He just walked to the apartment assuming I would follow. I did. "How did you know I was their?"

Entering the apartment felt strange, like I hadn't ever entered through the door before. Still following he went straight to the kitchen and sat on the bench. I could feel him watching me as I dragged a chair over from the table. Sitting down I met his gaze and just looked back.

After about five minutes he opened his mouth as if to say something, and then closed it. When he realized he couldn't think of how to say something. Looking confused Jace got up and started pacing the room. A few minutes past of watching him pace the kitchen. It started to get on my nerves.

I yelled STOP!"
Jace looked startled with the sudden outburst.
"Fine."
"Thank-you. So what are you doing?"
"I'm thinking. What does it look like?"
"Well sorry. What are you thinking about?"
Jace turned and faced me. "Do you remember me?"

By his expression he had caught the confused look that crossed my face. His expression looked disappointed and angry. I got angry at him again.
"What do you think? I've been nearly killed, I've been saved by some random girl in the middle of know where and then you turn up in my kitchen, asking me if I remember you. Are you crazy?"

Chapter 10

Where?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jace went to say something but I pushed ahead my voice rising as I kept talking.
"I have never even seen you before, until a few hours ago. I would like you to get out of my house Now! And never come back!"

Jace looking shocked and very angry didn't leave my house he just went and sat back on the kitchen bench. "Wait, what girl? Yea, well that's not really an option for me right now." Talking in a monotone. I couldn't pick up the slightest bit of emoticon in what he said.
"She showed up after I beat you up. Now get out." In the angriest voice I could manage.
"Shit! Fine but you're coming with me. You have to come with me, now."

"I don't want to go anywhere. I want to go and have a sleep."
"Ok. You go have a sleep."
"Not until you get out. Just get out." I wasn't even scared anymore I was so tired I could barely even stand up straight let alone argue with someone.
"I can't, what if Daxen comes back? I need to get you to Rick."

"Who's Rick." I had asked that question so many times and had never gotten and answer I don't know what I expected but I did get one this time.
"He's the gang leader. He thinks you're the key or something like that. Now I need to get you to him you can sleep in the car."

"But I don't wanna go... I gotta tell mum..." My voice started slurring I was so tired. My legs bucked and I feel towards the ground but of course I didn't hit it, Jace had caught me. He lifted me into his arms and started walking out the door. I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. I let the drop and I started drifting. The light sway of Jace's steps put me to sleep.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Taiven. Taiven. Wake up. Taiven."
"Yea. What?" My voice raw from sleep.
"Where here. I have to take you to Rick now. Ok?"
"Ok." Still too tired to resist, Jace pulled me out of the car. I leaned against him for support. If Jace not have been there I would have fallen over.
