Kerala Tourism on Increase
An article on Kerala and increasing tourism in the Indian state....
God's own country in India is being blessed by the God of tourism. Kerala is experiencing and unprecedented tourist influx. Both foreign nationals and Indians are visiting Kerala for holidaying and sight seeing. The Malayalee culture is rich in both traditions, rites and rituals. The Keralite cuisine is most popular for its delicious curries and condiments that enrich the food and add special flavors.
More than one million tourists visited eco tourism destinations in Kerala. Which is heartening for the hotels and resorts in sanctuaries, tiger reserves and national parks. Most famous National Park in Kerala is Periyar tiger reserve. Kerala offers a lot for sightseeing and vacationing other then wildlife. The most famous activity is boating in peaceful surroundings of serene backwaters and Ayurvedic massage.
The spurt Kerala tourism is rewarding the local populace as more jobs have been created and incoming revenue has made the life of locals better. Kerala has much to offer besides backwater and massage. There are amazing structures of archaeological importance and historic value that appeal to the visitors - churches, forts, temples and palaces. These are spread all over the state.
The boom in tourism at Kerala has brought in a shortage of rooms and more hotels and resorts are being set up to fulfill the demand. A large number of three star hotels are being set up by the Central government to accommodate the visiting tourists. The state government is also offering subsidy on investment in tourism sector as a way of encouraging the industry.
In its effort to increase the tourism in Kerala further the state government has appointed number of non residents Indians of Malayalee origin as the state's brand ambassadors.
