Kendra Apologizes to Hef Even as She Prepares to Wed NFL Player
Wary of remaining on Hugh Hefner’s bad side, former "The Girls Next Door" star and Hef girlfriend Kendra Wilkinson apologized to Hugh after comments disparaging her elderly ex-boyfriend.
Kendra Wilkinson, one-time girlfriend of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and star of "The Girls Next Door," has apologized to Hugh publicly, retracting some earlier statements that apparently hurt the old man’s feelings. Wilkinson had earlier noted that she rarely saw Hefner and often snuck out of the Playboy mansion because she "had to have sex." Wilkinson noted, "Besides the nights we went out, I only saw Hef, like, once a day walking through the halls to his office. There were never solo dates."
Apparently, Wilkinson wanted to chalk up the comments she made about her elderly boyfriend to poor interviewing skills, noting, "I’m more upset at myself with what I said. I’m really bad at interviews, and anyone who knows me knew I meant no harm…I’m a goofball. Mostly, I’m very sorry to have hurt Hef…Playboy made me who I am, and Hef has done more for me than anyone else."
Wilkinson was apparently happy to have made her apology but, fearing that it wouldn’t truly assuage the hurt feelings, approached her former bunnies at the mansion and co-stars of the "The Girls Next Door" Holly Madison and Bridget Marguardt. Wilkinson professed lasting affection for the girls, noting that "we are all doing so great these days, everyone is happy and doing their own thing. We will all be together forever." Wilkinson, who will soon marry Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Hank Baskett, claims that settling down won’t change her roots, saying, "In my heart, I will always love Hef and Playboy."
