Kelly Clarkson Not Likely to Join Celeb Moms in Parenthood
Kelly Clarkson is churning out new albums and hit singles, but don’t expect her to join the celebrity trend of churning out children as well.
Kelly Clarkson produces music in the form of new albums at a prodigious rate and has just release her newest, "All I Ever Wanted" today. Clarkson will not, however, be churning out children in the same vain, however, even though the buzz in the entertainment industry these days is all about celebs with children.
For her part, Clarkson said she loves children, but she’s just not so sure that she’s the right person to be a mom. Said Clarkson, "Oh, my God, I have no desire. I would not be a good mother. I mean, I love being an aunt to my niece and nephew. And I used to want to, like, adopt 10 kids — because I had friends who were adopted, and I thought that was the coolest thing, to be chosen. But again, my job is too selfish."
Clarkson also noted that she’s not against marriage, but she’s treading softly and carefully as she searches, recognizing that being husband to a superstar is not a job for the feint of heart or easily jealous. On the issue of marriage, Clarkson noted, "I’m not against it. If I found a guy who could handle my job, that would be cool." In the past, of course, some singers and other celebrities have taken a hiatus or retired early to start a family. Clarkson poo-poos that idea, noting, "I love working; I can’t see myself not doing this." The long and the short of it is that Clarkson is probably going to be single for a while longer, and don’t expect any kids when she does marry.
