Keeping A Weight Loss Journal To Keep Track

Healthy weight loss requires discipline and perseverance. Successful and effective weight loss requires consistency in engaging in activities that will make you lose weight. The best way to keep track of your weight loss progress is by keeping a weight loss journal.
One of the great things that you can do while pursuing your weight loss goal is keeping a weight loss journal to keep track of your efforts. You can just get a small notebook and use one page per day. Write the date and day of the week at the top of the page.

The most important thing is to keep track of the food that you consume. Write the name and amount of each food that you ate, including the time of day. If you are counting the calories or grams of carbs, you might want to write that down too. Every time you weigh or measure yourself, include that in your journal too. Record any exercise you did on that same day.

The reason why you need to write down all this information is to make sure you are eating the right amount of food every day, if you keep track of it. By just leaving out a serving can be as bad as having an extra one. Keeping a weight loss journal to keep track will give you a sense of accomplishment, since you do it every day, you will feel good about taking the effort to record that day's activity. It keeps you more honest on your weight loss plan, since you know you have to write down everything that you did, be it good or bad.

Another benefit of keeping a weight loss journal is that it lets you keep track of the past accurately to see what went right or wrong. For example, if there’s no noticeable progress within a week or two, your journal may be able to reveal that you didn't really follow your proper routine most of that time, even though you think you did.

If you had some positive results, it’d be great to be able to see exactly what you did to achieve those results. An accurately-kept weight loss journal will be valuable to you and it may even become a prized possession. You can even show your weight loss journal to the doctor, nutritionist, or other professional and let them know exactly what you have been doing if you decide to consult with them.

It's very important to write in your weight loss journal every single day. If you happen to put it off, you forget all details and eventually forget everything, or even confuse one day's activity with another. Keeping a weight loss journal to keep track may seem like a lot of work but actually it, only takes a few minutes a day just to write in. It sure beats getting off track and delaying your weight loss results just because you didn't follow your plan properly.
