Keep It For Eternity
Simply a love poem.

From a past that's dead and gone,
Not all of them were lovers,
Some were friends and nothing more,
But of all the people in my life,
You've shone as the brightest star,
The sweetest dream in my mind,
You hold the key to my heart.
Although memories lose their substance,
Sometimes fading completely,
You're always here to recoup them,
To bring back the good times for me,
Your kiss serves as a reminder
Of the tenderness that love can bring,
And no one has been kinder
Or more loyal than you have been.
When I look towards my future
I see you there to welcome me,
With all the love you nurture
To cater for my hopes and dreams,
Although today will be gone by then
It will still be there with us,
In a memory to which we both hold on,
Held within the deepest love.
But for now we have the present
To dwell within each others arms,
So cosy and contented,
By the fireside to keep us warm,
As we lay there on the blankets
That you spread across the floor,
We lay there completely sated
By the love we made moments ago.
So let me emphasize my feelings
To underline my love for you,
You give my life true meaning,
To me, you're everything that's good,
And I hold myself in honor
Of the love that you return to me,
It fills me with awe and wonder,
And I'll keep it for eternity.
