Keep Your Child Safe by Teaching Them
Your child should be taught from an early age that it is not ok to feel uncomfortable in the presence of another person. Here is one reason why things have gone so badly.
Keeping your child safe is more than a job; it is a responsibility that you took on when you became a parent. A child is not able to take care of itself as efficiently as an adult can so it is up to you as the parent to nurture the child and to teach it from the start what is right and wrong. There have been a lot of theories that have come to the surface lately that tell parents that they should allow their children to do whatever they want, that they should be free to make their own decisions. But if you take a mind of a child and you don't fill it with things that will protect them through their lives then they will be filled with the voices of inexperience and that will lead to tragedy.
Let's take for example if you don't take the time to teach your children right from wrong when it comes to the matter of how they should handle being approached by a stranger. The smart thing for a child to do would be to scream as loud as they possibly could and to run away, but by nature children are trusting. By not teaching your child the proper response to do when they are approached by a stranger you are opening up the opportunity for them to be hurt by a predator.
The truth of the matter is that there are a lot of people out there that would like nothing more than to prey on the inexperience of a youth. It's up to you as a parent to make sure that your child is taken care of. Inform your child from a young age. Take the initiative, you are the parent, they are the child. Just make sure that whatever you do it is tempered by love because that is when the child will flourish.
