Katrina’s Story - Chapter One

Jesse has met the man that would change her life. She’s in grade 10 when she meets him, but he hides stuff from her that makes her curious to know more about him. She just needs to get his trust.....
The floor creaked above my head on the second floor. Who else could be in here? This house was supposed to be abandoned. I shuddered and started walking towards the stairs, stuttering uncontrollably I whispered, "Who... Who’s th... there?"

The creaking sound was right behind me now.

I stiffened and turned around slowly, as my face got washed of its color.

A man stood with a hatchet in his right hand, holding it high above his head about to bring it down on my own. I tried to scream but some how my voice got stuck in a knot in my throat. Gulping, I started to back away from this strange manic.

A strange wind started blowing from threw the windows and down the stairs, pushing me towards the man.

Shrieking I tried to stop from going to him by trying to grab for something near me. Damn it! I thought miserably. An unseen force started pushing me harder. The man started to laugh and lower his weapon. The wind blew me to him. I landed against his chest with a gasp. Finally finding my voice I screamed at the top of my lungs like I was being tortured and placed my hands on his chest trying to push away from him. He laughed louder and wound his arms around me.

"Hey, . It’s fine!! Its okay, It’s only me..," He reached up and pulled off his mask so I could see his face.

"Johnathan!" I slapped him hard across the face, hoping I left a mark. " John you know I get scared easily!" He just laughed harder then I ever seen him laugh before. He fell to the cold floor clutching his belly "Ow…." He laughed.

"John, you are the most retarded person I have ever met..," I sighed.

"Yea... But you love this retard with your whole heart... If you didn’t love me, I doubt I’d be able to do this..." He grabbed my hand and pulled me to him. His lips met mine, and I kissed him softly and tenderly, Enjoying the feel of his lips. Then I pulled away, giggling. I had a urge to just walk away from him. I bet you know how hard it is to fight a simple urge... Well for me it is anyway.

Getting up I blew him a kiss. He made his lip curl and looked at me like a starving puppy would when he’s begging for food. Patting his head, I said "Sit," He sat, "Stay," I giggled.

He just laughed and got up to hug me.
