Karma Brown Chapter 4

"I’m out ya’ll. See ya in da morning." I say finishing up Kevin’s hair, then got up and picked up my stuff. I went upstairs and into my room. I put my stuff away and climbed into bed.

The next day my alarm clock went off at 7:30. ‘Man I gotta get used to this getting up early mess.’ I went across the hall and banged on the other’s doors. I also yelled for them to wake up. It didn’t bother my parents because they slept in the room downstairs. "Come on yall! Its time to wake up and get ready!" I yelled. One by one they came out and told me they were up. I went back into my bathroom and washed my face and brushed my teeth.

When I got done I picked my outfit that described me the most at the time. I went to my closet and grabbed my South Pole white halter-top and some skinny leg jeans. The jeans really showed off my booty and thighs. The top also showed my belly ring. Let me tell you something about my family. Even though I’m only 15 I was able to get a belly ring and my brothers got tattoos.

In my family when a child turns 13, they are considered adults. After getting dressed I quickly put my hair in some braids. I grab my cell and baby phat book bag and went down stairs. Kyra and Chris were already down there talking to my dad. "Hey family." I said kissing my dad on the cheek. I look over at Kyra and see she has on a red tight fitting Baby Phat foil print t-shirt. The shirt also shows her sun tattoo she has on her stomach. Kyra wore some flare blue jeans. We both wore Air Forces. Mine were white and her’s white and red.

Chris was looking how he always looks: thugged out. He wore a black tee that had Tupac on it, and he wore a pair of baggy Sean John jeans. On his feet were all-white Air Forces. "Hey baby girl, you ready for school?" My dad asked. "Hell no. To me school is a place to meet new friends and hang out." I said grabbing an apple. I looked at my dad and we both bust out laughing. "I’m just playin. I am excited to see what Johnson High has to offer." I told them. Finally Kevin came downstairs looking thugged out. Kevin wore a black tee that was covered in green money signs. He also wore baggy Levi’s, and rocked some Jordans. Both boys rocked a diamond stud in their left ear. They also showed off their tattoos. Chris had 2, my name and my mom’s name. Kevin had a cross on his fore arm.

"Damn Negro you took more time then me and Kyra." I said making Kyra crack up. My mom came out her bedroom still in her pajamas. Her eyes were red, like she was crying. "Ya’ll need to get going. Karma don’t start nuttin at that school, stay out of trouble boo." Mom said kissing me on the cheek. Then she kissed everyone else. I also saw her roll her eyes at my father. "Aight mom. See ya later." My older brother Sean said pushing us out the door.
