Kanye West Ends Engagement

Phifer, a fashion designer, was reportedly seen on the red carpet at an "Evenings in Vogue" event in New York where her clothing line, Ghita, was featured. Phifer, 30, had a naked ring finger leading to questions about the status of her relationship with West. She confirmed the split and said, "It’s always sad when things like this end, and we remain friends. I wish him the bet in his future and all his endeavors. He’s one of the most talented people I’ve ever met."

West and Phifer have reportedly been spending less and less time together. West, 30, has reportedly been focused on his upcoming "Glow in the Dark" tour. A source said, "I haven’t seen [Alexis] around at all the last few times I’ve seen him recently." The friend added, "They’d been having problems. Kanye is really focused on his show; he’s putting everything into the show right now. Alexis is a nice girl, but Kanye has been going through a rough time. They hit a rough patch and for now they’ve split."

West and Phifer have reportedly been dating on-and-off since 2002. The couple got engaged in August 2006 while on vacation on the island of Capri. In March it was rumored that the couple had already tied the knot, but West’s camp quickly denied the report. A source close to the couple said of West and Phifer’s recent break-up, "They are still friends and have broken up and gotten back together before, so it could work out." Who knows what the future holds.
