Kailash Manasarover Yatra -- Joyful Moments in the Himalayas

There is no mountain like the Himalayas for on it are Kailash and Mansarovar. The first hand experience of driving through the Himalayan Desert from Nyalam to Saga (Altitude: Saga/4450m) and climbing Labug-La at 5050m on our way was joyful.
There is no mountain like the Himalayas for on it are Kailash and Mansarovar.

The first hand experience of driving through the Himalayan Desert from Nyalam to Saga (Altitude: Saga/4450m) and climbing Labug-La at 5050m on our way was joyful.

Chill breeze and a light drizzle hit us as we got ready to leave Nyalam to go to Saga on the banks of Bhramha Purtra River. The Japanese made Land Cruiser 4500 CC engine with 4+1 seating capacity is the only reliable mode of transport for Kailash yatris.

They drive in convoys, helping each other to reach the day's destination. To overcome the driving day over the sandy, dusty and rocky land of Tibet, there is entertainment to create. You will witness nomads chasing thousands of yaks and sheep. And you will enjoy the sheer remoteness. You may also listen to music, sing bhajans, eat chocolates, drink double bull, energy drinks to keep you busy.

As you reach Saga/4450m: and pass through Labug-La 5050m, Peku-tso lake (this lake has salty water though the river water is aweet ). On the first long driving day over the sandy and rocky land of Tibet, other things like witnessing lakes, nomads chasing thousands of yaks and sheep keep you busy. By the late afternoon you will cross Bhramha Purtra River way to typical Chinese and Tibetan town, Saga for night.
Kailash Manasarover Yatra - Anxious Moments at Nylam
Over the centuries pilgrims have journeyed through to Kailash to achieve enlightenment or cleanse themselves of sin by taking a holy dip in the holy Manasarover Lake and doing the Holy Parikrama (Kora) of Mt. Kailash, braving enormous distances and particularly harsh weather and anxieties.
