Just To Be With You

Step by painful step i forced myself ahead,
hedges and burrows i
ploughed through,
just to be with you.

Weary and exhausted,
I appeared before you,
hoping to find myself
in your loving embrace,
but that was not to be.

You turned away asking me to leave,
my ears i could not believe,
no, you wouldnt ask me to leave,
a nightmare this must be,
yes, il wake up soon to find myself in your arms.

But no,
a dream this is not,
the pain is too intense,
for it to be anything but stark reality.

Turning away, i let my feet descend on nothing,
i feel myself plummet down the mountain side,
and there i lay, resembling a broken doll,
feeling my life slowly seep away.
