Just Plain Daisy Ch. 2

Second part of 'Daisy and the Boy'. Daisy changes her mind about that date... kind of.
Hey guys!! Sorry it's taken me so long to post a second chapter on this story. I sort of forgot it was out there. Anyway, I changed the name of the story to Just Plain Daisy because I feel like it's a better title.

p.s. if any of you have read any of my other stories, I'm going to quit writing Life Long Love and the sunny life. I started writing them with an idea of where they would be headed, but that changed. so, now I'm thinking of starting yet another story. one that's more planned out, so I will actually finish a story. so now I'll have Just Plain Daisy, Tangible Love (yes, I'm still writing that one), and Can You Hear My Love? however, if you would like for me to continue writing either Life Long Love or The Sunny Life, just let me know.

P.S.S. I just realized today how repetitive I am with my stories. First of all, I'm pretty sure that all the girls in my stories have brunette long hair, blue eyes, and are 5'10 with a curvy body. also, three of my stories titles' had the word love in them. I'll have to work on that! :)

After walking away from Mitchel I headed to my car. It really bothered me that those guys were laughing when I turned Mitchel down. 'Oh well, I really don't have the time to be worrying about what other people are doing. I need to get my ass to work.' I thought to myself.

I got to my car and took a minute to admire it. It took a lot of working and saving up to buy this baby. I loved her. I nicknamed her Willow (My favorite name of all time.) She's a crystally blue Prius. I Love Her.
Anyway, I get in the car and drive over to Barney's. I get there and immediately Sal gives me this look that say 'If I didn't know and love you so much, you'd be fired.' "Your Late." he says with his eyebrow raised and his arms folded across his chest.

"Yeah, Yeah, hold your horses. You're the one who insists I stay in school. This is your fault. Anyway, this guy stopped me and started talking to me, so sorry I'm a couple of minutes late." I explain to him. Really, if there was anybody to blame for my tardyness, it was him.

Rachel, one of the other waitresses at Barney's and probably my only friend, despite the age difference, says "A boy eh? Is he hot?"

I roll my eyes. "Yeah Rach, radiating heat." I tell her. She just laughs and gets back to work.

"You know, it wouldn't be a bad idea for you to start dating some guys. Don't get me wrong, I love having you work here, but that's all you ever do. You're almost seventeen and you've never been out on a single date kid." Sal tells me. It's times like this when I'm thankful that he's the father figure in my life. I know he cares.

"Sal, I'm just not that type of person. Plus, nobody ever asks." I try to explain.

He scoffs and asks "And what 'type' of person would that be Daisy? What did this boy want with you anyway?"

I look down at my feet. "He asked me if I wanted to go out on a date with him." I'm starting to feel sheepish.

"Ah, see, you have plenty of opportunities to go out and you never take them. I tell ya, it just ain't healthy for a girl your age to be so obsessed with work and family". He says triumphantly.

"But Sal, I don't even know the guy, how am I supposed to go out on a date with somebody I hardly even know? Plus, as I was walking away, his friends started laughing. I don't wanna go out with somebody I've never even spoken to." I almost pout.

"I'm not telling you to go out with a perfect stranger kiddo, I'm just saying that getting away from things for a little while might be good for you, and so what if they laughed. You're a beautiful girl. You got nothing to worry about." He convinced me.

"Alright. I'll consider what you just said. But now I need to get to work. My boss is a real ass when it comes to slacking off. I wouldn't wanna upset the head hauncho." I tease him.

"Something tells me he's gonna let this one time slip." He tells me as he heads back into his office.
**
I've been working for 5 hours strait. My feet are so sore and I've still got three more hours to go. I notice a group of people at one of the tables I just cleaned off, so I know they need menu's and such. Walking over, I pass out their menus and just as I'm getting to the part about "Hello, I'm Daisy. I'll be your waitress for the evening. Can I start you off with something to drink?" when I look around the table at my costumers when I see the last person I ever wanted to walk into my workplace. Mitchel.

"Hello, Daisy, I didn't know you worked here." He said to me with a smile on his face.

I smile back (fakely) and say "Yep, I work here, may I take your drink orders?" I ask his family.

I took their orders and walked into the back. I saw Rachel and ran up to her.
"You have to switch tables with me." I told her.

"And just why do I have to do that?" she asked.

"If I tell you, you have to promise not to embarrass me." I tell her.

Her eyes lit up as if she knew something juicy was about to happen. "Spil." she said.

"The guy who asked me out today is here with his family. He looks like he wants to talk to me." I tell her.

After laughing for about a minute strait, she spits out "Now darlin' it would be just plain wrong of me to deprive that boy of your ravishing beauty." Usually I love her texan accent. Now it's not so cute anymore.

"Come on! please? I really don't wanna have to deal with this right now. I've never asked you to do this before. Please?" I pleaded, well, actually, I begged.

"Sugar, this is something you need to deal with yourself." She told me.

I humphed and got to getting their drinks ready. Turning around with their tray of beverages in my hands, Sal is holding the door open for me.

"No. You're not coming out there with me." I tell him.

"The hell I'm not. I wanna see just who this boy is if he's got you in enough of a frenzy to try switching tables. It's just not like you Dais." He told me, trying to act serious, but the glit of humor in his eyes is obvious.

"Fine, but you are not saying anything." I say.

"We'll see." is his only reply as he follows me out.
