Have you been smiling and not laughing,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been seeing and not looking,
Have you been looking at, and not looking 'into'
Have you been blindfolded, and not been able to foresee,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been good, and not better,
Have you been unjust, and not just,
Have you been loving and affectionate,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been doing things, or 'not doing things'
Have you been learning and unlearning,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been company to many, and friend to none,
Have you been a friend, and not a companion,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been seeing each other,
Have you been 'not seeing' each other,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been in 'trouble and strife',
Have you been faking, and not feeling,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been cribbing and nagging,
Have you been crying and whining,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been waxing and waning,
Have you been in pain, and not joy,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been feeling the doom and gloom,
Have you been criticizing, and not being constructive,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been destructive in the guise of creativity,
Have you been gossiping and not gabbing,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been fair and square,
Have you been demoralized and depressed,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been compromising and not rebelling,
Have you been through the thick and thin,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been 'playing' and not 'sporting',
Have you been hating and not being loved,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been silent and not quiet,
Have you been quiet, and not peaceful,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been coming and going, and not journeying,
Have you been journeying to reach nowhere,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been unconsciously traversing towards the conscious,
Have you been living each day,
Have you been dying each day,
Just for the sake of it.

Have you been a human, without being humane,
Just for the sake of it.

Let's start "UN-LIVING" and Grow up,
