Just for this morning I will give you a kiss when you get up
and let you hug me as long and much as you want to
Just for this morning I won’t yell if you wake me up again
and I’ll leave the computer to take you to the park
Just for this afternoon I’ll bake cookies with you
and I’ll let you lick the spoon
Just for this afternoon I’ll play lots of make-believe games with you
And eat ice cream till we’re sick
Just for this afternoon I’ll lay outside on the cold ground with you
till we freeze then I’ll cuddle by the fire with you
Just for tonight I’ll lay with you till you fall asleep
Just for tonight I’ll run my fingers through your hair
and I’ll sing you to sleep
