Just For A While
I can't promise that you will be able to get over this, but I'm sure we can try.

As gray,
As you allow them to be,
My heart is a place,
Where you can stay,
Until you get back on your feet,
And I won't judge you,
Or discriminate you
Because I know where you've been.
I can't say,
That things will get better,
And I can't promise,
That the weight will get lighter,
But I know you can trust in me,
We can pretend we're still free,
Just for a while,
Let's make it worthwhile.
You can cry and cry,
Until you're out of tears,
And you don't want to move at all,
And I know, on face,
There is no real smile,
Because that smile,
Would never make you feel that small,
And I'm sure that these words may hurt,
And I know that they say so cliche,
But I'm sure that inside,
You have found a new light,
So can we just get over it all.
I can't say,
That things will get any better,
And I can't promise,
That the weight will get lighter,
But I know you can trust in me,
We can pretend we're still free,
We can do everything that we used to,
Spend a day just acting like we're kids,
We can forget about everything,
For 24 hours at least,
Maybe just for a while,
Let's make it life worthwhile.
