Jon & Kate Plus 8 Finally Ending in November

It appears that the long and painful television saga of the Gosselin family is finally, mercifully, coming to an end.
TLC was forced to stop filming the Gosselin children (Jon & Kate Plus 8) only a couple weeks ago after Jon Gosselin filed a complaint in court. One parent's objection to the children being on the show is enough to stop production from a legal standpoint. And it seems that now TLC is finally ready to pull the plug on the show. Rather than stick around to fight for what has already become a dead brand, TLC is going to throw together a couple episodes from existing footage, then stop airing new episodes in November.

As the show comes to a close, the Gosselins' personal battles are raging on, both publicly and behind closed doors. Jon was recently ordered by a judge to repay nearly 180,000 dollars that he removed from a personal shared account. Kate protested that the money was used to care for the children and a judge agreed. There is no word at this time whether Jon has actually returned the money or what he intended to do with it while he had it.

Of course, after a few months or years out of the spotlight, I think we would all be surprised if Jon + Kate didn't re-emerge looking for new ways to make money off of filming their dysfunctional family. As the couple deteriorated from a loving family to petty, immature and child-like behavior - from Jon and Kate - America seemed to sour on the whole concept.

Of course people are drawn to a train wreck, and the Gosselin saga certainly qualifies, but it can only last so long and it appears to finally be over. Expect to see at least one, probably more, made-for-television movie claiming to reveal the real story behind the break-up.
