Jon & Kate Making Major Announcement on Monday's Episode

"Recently, we've made some life-changing decisions ... ones that we hope will bring each of us some peace." Those are the words of Kate Gosselin in a video promotion on TLC for this Monday's episode. It would appear that the couple, whose struggles have been hyper-publicized in recent months, is going to call it quits. Of course, that's just speculation, but it seems that they have been apart for months already and this is just an opportunity to make it public and official.

Obviously, this is going to have a major impact on the show and it's difficult to envision the show moving forward with the couple no longer together. The attraction to the show for many viewers was watching Jon and Kate work with so many kids through the struggles of the daily minutiae that is raising children. As the show became more popular and the Gosselin lifestyle began to surpass that of the vast majority of the viewership, the show seemed to unravel.

It became difficult to imagine the "high stress" lifestyle that was being portrayed while the family was enjoying the perks of not having to work and receiving all sorts of promotional gifts and travel from the show's advertisers. As the show lost touch with its "reality" roots, Jon and Kate seemed to be less interested in each other and each was going their separate way - both on and off screen.

Here's hoping that the major life decision is one that is best for the kids and that TLC and the paparazzi are able to acknowledge it and move on to as large a degree as possible.
