It's difficult to imagine that two reality stars - whose lives are largely documented on film - have the time or the resources available to carry on extra-marital affairs. Of all the times to choose to be unfaithful, wouldn't it seem that during the filming of your own reality show would be one of the least appropriate times? But that's why millions of people will be tuning in to the season premiere of Jon & Kate Plus 8 on May 25th.

Sure, many people will be watching to get their fill of the cuteness and utter insanity that reigns in the Gosselin household of 8 children and 2 adults who are barely holding it all together. Now that the Gosselins are world famous and wealthy as a result of their reality series, it seems that they have drawn the attention of every major gossip rag. When you're the biggest stars, your picture sells the most magazines.

We've seen it before with Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Cruise, etc., etc. When you're considered to be the hottest item around, you're going to be implicated in some kind of scandal, whether or not there is any merit to the story. Accompanying the rumors will be an endless stream of unnamed "sources" and "insiders" who conveniently will reveal the most compelling details that inquiring minds are seeking.

The stories get juicier and crazier and new characters are introduced. Then, just when it seems like the story is about to explode and reveal everything that you've ever wondered about it, it goes away. It will just fade into nothing as a newer, even juicier story emerges about an entirely different celebrity or celebrity happening. And then we'll all be talking about it!
