Jojoba oil is one of the best carrier oil that can be mixed with numerous essential oils. But, jojoba oil has many uses when used alone, and can be combined with other essential oils and made even more beneficial. Before, we start looking at what is jojoba oil used for? Let us discuss, the properties of jojoba oil. So, what is the great thing about jojoba oil that makes it different from other oils? The first greatest quality of this oil is that it is not greasy like other carrier oils. Though oils like almond oil, olive oil or coconut oil are also used for moisturizing the skin, they give a greasy effect to the skin. Jojoba oil on the other hand is an excellent moisturizer, that gets quickly absorbed in skin, without any greasy effect. Another important property of jojoba oil is that it resembles human sebum, and this property can be used for many purposes. These were two important reasons that distinguish jojoba oil from other oils. Other properties of jojoba oil are that it is an odorless and colorless oil, which has almost no side effects. These were the various properties of this oil that render many jojoba oil benefits.

Uses of Jojoba Oil

Moisturizer: You can use it as a full body or face moisturizer any time of the day. It is best used after a bath. After you have taken a shower in the morning, apply this oil all over your body to keep the skin moisturized all day long.
Tip: Add few drops of lavender oil with jojoba oil (2:10 ratio), and you will have a great smelling moisturizer.

Hair Care: You can use jojoba oil as an oil massage before shampooing, this way it can act as a conditioner. You can also take few drops of jojoba oil on your palm, spread it and then apply on frizzy dry hair, and it will act as a serum.
Tip: Add few drops of rosemary oil with jojoba oil (2:10 ratio), and you will have a hair loss oil cum dry hair conditioner.

Anti-Aging: Due to the anti-oxidants present in it, it can greatly help to prevent wrinkles and other effects of aging on the skin. Use it daily to keep your skin young.

Care for Cuticles: Apply few drops of jojoba oil on your nails, to maintain soft cuticles or treat dry ragged nails.

Restoring Natural Skin Oil Balance: People suffering from patchy or dry skin, should use jojoba oil everyday in generous amount. As jojoba oil is similar to human sebum, it can trick the body to think that it's the body's natural oil and thus, help restore the moisture level of the skin.

Make-Up Remover: You can use jojoba oil as a cleansing oil to get rid of make-up, whether it is eye make up, foundation or blush.

Lip Balm: Apply few drops of jojoba oil any time of the day, when you feel the lips have become dry.
Tip: Mix a few drops with your lip balm, or mix jojoba oil with few drops of rose essential oil to make your own floral smelling lip moisturizer.

Acne Treatment & Prevention: It can help to treat and prevent acne symptoms of pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. This oil helps to dissolve the oil production of pimples or blackheads and also helps to break the acne, thus, you can have a smooth acne free complexion.
Tip: Add few drops of tea tree oil with jojoba oil (2:10 ratio), and you will have a powerful anti-bacterial acne oil.

Massage: Though, it doesn't have a slippery greasy effect like the massage oils, you can still use it for a massage, also jojoba oil will get readily absorbed in the skin, so you don't have to take a shower after the massage!
Tip: Mix jojoba oil with few drops of a calming essential oil like frankincense or lavender oil, to make an excellent massage oil.

These were the various uses of jojoba oil. So, buy a bottle of organic variety of jojoba oil and try out the above uses, you can use the above tips to make the jojoba oil more aromatic. There are no side effects of jojoba oil, however, if you are allergic to nuts, then do a small skin patch test before you start using this oil.
