John Stamos has apologized for his recent odd behavior during a number of interviews in Australia and blamed the sleeping pill Ambien.

Footage showing Stamos slurring his words and acting out of it during an interview with a reporter from Sydney’s Daily Telegraph hit the internet on June 26 causing many people to question whether or not he had a drinking or drugging problem. Another video clip of his interview on Mornings with Kerri-Anne also hit the Internet. This clip showed Stamos slurring his words, making a lewd gesture, and saying that the Telegraph reporter has a "small penis."
Stamos now says that he experienced an "hour of grogginess" due to taking the sleeping pill Ambien. The drug is meant to be taken when you can get a full eight hours rest, but Stamos claims he only got a few hours of sleep. Stamos said, "I took Ambien at 5 a.m. and got up at 7 a.m. I was ok and did a few radio interviews. Then I had a break at 10 a.m. I dozed off and couldn’t wake up. Security banged on the door, shook me and woke me up. They threw a jacket on me and put me in front of the camera. I did three or four interviews after that, and no one said a word." He added, "It was a very weird very out of character hour of my life."
Stamos said he is "no David Hasselhoff." He also said he is not much of a drinker and has only "probably had 10 drinks in the last year." Stamos has apologized for his behavior and said he hopes to make it up to the people of Australia because he would some day like to retire there. As for the bizarre videos he said he has not seen them saying, "I’m afraid to look at it." Nowadays you never know just what might end up on the Internet…
