Johmmy
The idea of this poem is actually based from the song/ballad Joni. Well, I really get fascinated by its lyrics that's why I wrote this poem. (My version)
He’s 22
Joni was her name and
Jimmy was his name.
Joni loved Jimmy
But Jimmy was afraid.
Joni needs Jimmy and
Jimmy needs her too,
But chose not to say I Love You Too.
Soon Jimmy left Joni all alone,
But not so alone with his best friend John.
Pain filled her heart,
Tears filled his eyes.
Joni don’t want him leave,
But Jimmy just can’t stay.
His heart was filled with her memories,
He had to come back; He had to explain.
Five years since he’s been gone,
Now he wants Joni to marry him.
But things weren’t the same before.
And his teardrops fell like rain that day
For Joni had married his best friend . . . .John.
