Simpson’s legal team sent the letter to OK! magazine Thursday and demanded a retraction of an article claiming that Romo kicked her to the curb after his team’s disappointing loss to the New York Giants. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback reportedly ended their relationship after the playoff loss, but Simpson’s camp says it isn’t true. Her rep, Cindi Berger, reportedly said in a statement, "That rag completely fabricated and made up this story. I’ve spoken to both Jess and Tony and they are completely secure in their relationship and won’t let this get under their skin!"

The article appears in the February 4th edition of the tabloid and the headline reads "Jessica Dumped!" Romo has reportedly gotten a lot of flack for dating the singer and for the fact that she was present at the December 16 game when the Cowboys lost for the second time that season. Romo’s teammate Terrell Owens reportedly told reporters after that game, "Right now, Jessica Simpson is not a fan favorite – in this locker room or in Texas Stadium." He quickly apologized and claimed to have jokingly made the statement.

Attorney John J. Rosenberg reportedly called the article a "personal attack masquerading as journalism." He demanded a retraction and that the magazine "cease and desist from publishing any further false and misleading attacks on Ms. Simpson or her family." He also said if the publication didn’t back off it could "warrant a defamation lawsuit." Simpson and Romo have reportedly been dating for a few months. She reportedly even brought Romo to her family home in Texas.
