Jessica Simpson & John Mayer Part 2

Simpson and Mayer were spotted getting cozy at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on Monday. Reportedly, Mayer was a guest at the hotel and was in the bar flirting with different women when Simpson arrived to meet a friend. Simpson met up with producer Romeo Antonio, an old friend who has collaborated on work with her in the past and has written a number of songs for her. Allegedly when Antonio got up to go to the men’s room Mayer followed him and asked if there was anything romantic going on between him and Simpson. Antonio said no and Mayer went back to the bar where it was reported he spoke with Simpson for about 10 minutes before the two took off for Mayer’s room.

Just last month it was reported that Simpson and Mayer were seeing each other. It has never been quite clear if that was the case of just a publicity stunt. One day Simpson appeared on the cover of People magazine with a huge headline reading "I’m in Love!" A few days later she appeared on the cover of US Weekly under the headline "Dumped!" Shortly thereafter it was reported that Simpson used her "brief fling" with Mayer to promote her new album. Her father, Joe, fired her publicist when things got weird and blamed him for fabricating the story. Some say that Papa Simpson was behind the whole deal.

At the time a friend of Mayer’s did say that he and Simpson had a brief fling but "now he will stay away from her." The source went on the say the singer thought it "desperate" and "an attempt for her to stay in the spotlight." Simpson was reportedly really upset that the romance fizzled so quickly. Now it seems as if they are settling into round two. Maybe this time they won't have such a public affair.
