Jessica Simpson & John Mayer: Back On?

It was reported that Simpson and Mayer were spotted together in New York City on Sunday. Mayer, 29, and Simpson, 26, allegedly spent the night together in her room at the SoHo Grand Hotel. They reportedly arrived separately and he supposedly did not have his own room at the hotel. A source said Monday, "They saw each other last night. I have no idea what will happen with them tomorrow. I don’t think they’re sure. All I know is that they like each other and saw each other. Everyone’s waiting to see what’s going to happen."

Last week it was reported that Mayer had ended his six-month relationship with Simpson because he "just wasn’t into her anymore." A pal of Simpson’s reported that she was "bummed" over the split but ready to move on. And yet another source reported that the two were "constantly emailing and calling one another" and there was a strong chance they might get back together. A friend of Simpson’s said their behavior is normal. Said the source, "They’re in a normal relationship. This happens with relationships sometimes." The source also said, "They went on a date last night. They had a great time. They had dinner."

Simpson and Mayer have enjoyed an off and on romance for the past six months. They were spotted together all over the place looking very much the couple but only recently confirmed their relationship. A source close to Mayer’s said last week that the couple had "broken up and gotten back together at least ten times." So this seems like nothing new for them. As for their relationship, Simpson will most likely keep a lid on what is actually going on with the two of them. She learned her lesson after her very public romance and marriage to ex-husband Nick Lachey.
