Jessica Simpson’s Dad a Relationship Problem?

Romo, 28, called off his romance with singer-actress Jessica Simpson, 27, reportedly because of her controlling father. The two have since rekindled their romance, but it has been rumored that Romo laid down the law with Simpson and told her to tell her father to "back off." A source reportedly told Us Weekly that Joe Simpson asked Romo to drop his agent and let him manage his career. He also reportedly suggested to Simpson and Romo that if he married Simpson they could sell their engagement and wedding pictures to the tabloids. The source claims that Joe told Romo, "If you guys have a marriage, I can do the same [sell it] that I did with Ashlee."

For now, Romo and Simpson are back together. Their relationship constantly seems to be on the rocks, though. When reportedly asked for comment by Us Magazine, Joe said, "It’s unfair to criticize me for what every manager does for his or her clients. And in this business, where people can quickly turn on you, who better than a parent to be working for his children?" Allegedly that is not the only problem in the couple’s romance. Romo is also rumored to be sick of Simpson's partying. A source said, "Tony goes out and he will drink socially, but he said Jess takes it to an extreme."

Simpson, 27, and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Romo, 28, were spotted together recently at N9Ne steakhouse in Dallas. The next day they reportedly had brunch in Lewisville, Texas at Sneaky Pete’s. Simpson just returned from a vacation in Cabo San Lucas Thursday. She has been vacationing with her parents since May 18, the day after her sister Ashlee Simpson married Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz. Simpson and Romo were reportedly very cozy at the wedding. Simpson and Romo began dating in November 2007 and it has been reported that they "break-up all the time."
