Jennifer Aniston & John Mayer Call it Quits

The couple reportedly split earlier this week after deciding to slow things down. A source said, "They had a great time together, but they are just in different places in their lives right now." Mayer was spotted in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico without Aniston sparking rumors of the split. She was allegedly planning to go, but cancelled at the last minute. A mutual friend of the couple’s reportedly said of the split, "It is really a cooling-off, not this big dramatic break-up."

Just this week it was reported that Aniston, 39, and Mayer, 30, were planning a fall wedding and that she was expecting the couple’s first child. Aniston’s rep slammed the rumors calling them "complete fabrications." A source close to Aniston said that she was ready for marriage and a baby after seeing her ex-husband Brad Pitt’s ever growing family in all the tabloids.

Aniston and Mayer began dating in April while she was on location in Florida filming Marley & Me with Owen Wilson. Mayer and Aniston spent as much time together as they could whether he was visiting her on location or she was attending one of his concerts. One source has said that there is the possibility of the couple getting back together at some point, but that Mayer has "a lot going on right now." He has quite the reputation as a heartbreaker and before hooking up with Aniston reportedly romanced Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz, and Mischa Barton. Reps for both Aniston and Mayer have not commented on the split.
