Jazz and Rain in the Square Chap 2

Chapter 2

Sicily woke and found a pair of tight black jeans and a long sleeved yellow and black stripped zebra print shirt with some all black vans. She had never heard of vans before but she hoped that the clothes would be warmer than the ones she had. She showered in her bathroom that was attached to her room then went downstairs for breakfast. She didn’t say good morning to Dorian who was eating a bowl of grits and watching some show with agents. She found a small silver pot on the stove and a saw that there was a bowl next to the stop that she assumed was for her. She made herself a bowl of grits then went to sit across the island from Dorian and watched the show he was watching. Then Dorian turned the show off
"I was watching that"

"You don’t even know what it’s called" Dorian said and washed his bowl
"So…"
"I’m sorry for last night" Dorian said over his shoulder
"No your not! You called me a charity case! You had NO right to say that" Sicily said as she finished her bowl of grits
"We’ll what can I do to prove to you that I’m sorry"
"Dunno" Sicily said turning to leave.
"There’s a party tonight on the roof’s watch deck"
"And…"Sicily said turning around on the stairs to face Dorian

"Why don’t you come?" Dorian asked as he turned the water off and dried his hands
"I’ll think about" Sicily said and went up stairs to her room to unpack, Sicily put in her Favorite mixed cd in her new Radio that James had put in her room when she was decorating. The first song to play was Show me what I’m looking for by Carolina Liar
Ice had finished unpacking around noon and then took a nap she woke a one hour later to Dorian shaking her awake
"Go away" Sicily mumbled swatting away Dorian like he was a fly. I’m never gonna get use to this time zone!

"Come on the we need help setting up for the party"
"I said I would THINK about going" Sicily said and pulled a pillow over her head
"Dad said you HAVE to come"
Sicily mumbled "Then sat up and rubbed her eye’s "We who?"
"The kids from yesterday…I’ll introduce you"
"Can I go fix my face first?"

"Yea I’ll wait for you:" Dorian said with a smile and sat at the chair at Sicily’s desk. Sicily went to the batch room and applied some black eye liner and some yellow eye shadow then put on some lip-gloss that had glitter in it and a yellow head band. She looked at all of things that sat on her bathroom counter. There was face was scented lotions and body sprays with perfumes then there where several colors of lip-gloss and eye shadow even different color eyeliners. Sicily had never dreamed of having these things. They were rare on St. Luca and where considered a special gift if she where to have gotten one. She took one last look at herself in the mirror then left the bathroom and went back in to her room

"So what kind of party is this anyway? And why are people here at One o clock in the afternoon?" Sicily said as she opened the door of her room and stepped outside
"It’s the fourth of July!" Dorian said as he opened a small door that had some stairs in it. He and Sicily climbed the stairs so they could get to the Roof Deck
"Why is the Fourth of July SO special?"

"I’ll give you a history lesson later…Hey guys come here" Dorian said as the same kids from yesterday flocked over to Dorian. The yellow girl took place by Dorian’s side but she was dressed in red, white, and blue from head to toe. "Sicily this is Lizze, that’s Mike, and that’s Melody; Mikes little sister, and this is Marcus." Dorian said pointing to each person
"You weren’t at the park yesterday" Sicily said to Marcus
"No I wasn’t" Marcus said to Sicily
"Hmm…so what are we doing? Lets get busy like mosquitoes." Sicily said
"It’s busy like bee’s" Mike said
"Oh…"

Everyone busied them selves with getting the party decorations ready and set by nightfall the party was in full swing. Sicily was enjoying herself much more than she thought she would be. She danced and danced until she was to tired to even walk. Sicily said bye to all the guest then went to her room and showered then got her journal and wrote the day’s events

July 4,2009
Today was fun I guess. Dorian properly introduced me to his friends. That Marcus is just delicious!! Would I love to get to know him! I wonder if he has a girlfriend. Mike didn’t talk to me at the party he didn’t even look my way when we were setting up I wonder what’s got his panties in a twist. This Fourth of July is interesting holiday I still don’t know why it’s so important but I do know that there are fireworks displays and they were beautiful. With all the colors. I hope Dorian wasn’t just putting on a show both our lives will be much easier if he and I get along well with each other.

I miss Jared terribly. I hope he’s doing well. I wonder how Tiff is maybe James’s will take me back to visit one day. I need new clothes maybe Lizze will go shopping with me she may be slow but at least she knows the American fashion I will probably freeze in this weather. Marcus told me that it SNOWS here can you believe that SNOW!! The only snow we know of is our snowy white beach…I should make sure that my sand is still sealed away. Well I should get some sleep Lizze, Melody and I are having a "Girls day" whatever that is Night.
