Jamie Lynn Spears: It’s a Girl!

Spears, 17, gave birth this morning at the Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Miss a little after 9:30 a.m. Spears and Aldridge, 19, arrived at the hospital at around 5 a.m. Parents Jamie and Lynne showed up about 45 minutes later and brother Bryan and sister Britney arrived around 8 a.m. The baby was named Maddie Briann and weighed in at 7 pounds 11 ounces. A source said, "Everyone is happy and healthy."

Spears, star of Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101, announced her pregnancy in December. She said at the time, "I was in complete and total shock and so was [Aldridge]." She said she didn’t tell anyone for two weeks after finding out she was expecting so she could decide what she was going to do. She finally came forward with her mother to announce the pregnancy. Nickelodeon released a statement at the time that read, "We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being."

After the announcement there were rumors that the couple had broken up and that Aldridge had asked for a paternity test Spears rep denied the reports and said that the reports were "false" and that the tabloid "did not fact check." Spears and Aldridge got engaged in March and recently purchased their first home in Liberty, Mississippi. The couple have been settling in and getting the house ready for the baby. They even decorated their daughter’s nursery in pink, brown and metallic green. The couple reportedly planned to tie the knot after the baby was born.
