Dilwara Jain Temples

Dilwara temples in Rajasthan is one of the popular Jain pilgrimage destinations in India. The legendary temples were constructed between 11th and 13th century and are enlisted amongst the finest architectural work of the country. Of the five, the Chaumukha Temple is the tallest one. The white marble work in the temple can be compared with the creative intricacy of Taj Mahal. The huge 4.3 ton brass tirthankara statue, made of Panchadhatu (gold, silver, brass, copper and zinc) is the major attraction here. Dilwara temples is situated 2.5 km from Mount Abu and travelers can easily asses by any means of transportation.

Ranakpur Jain Temple

Ranakpur in Rajasthan is a divine location for Jains. The temple situated at a remote location in the Aravali ranges was set up during the dynasty of erstwhile Rana Kumbha in 15th century AD. History says that the natives of Falna town has donated about 90 kg gold for the decoration of the temple. Interestingly, the shrine is supported with 1500 pillars and furnished with marble carvings, all of which attracts tourist from far away.

Rikhabdev Jain Temple

Dedicated to Lord Rikhabdev, the first Tirthankara, Rikhabdev temple belongs to Svetambata Sect of Jainism. It is located in Udaipur, one of the beautiful district of Rajasthan. The best time to visit the temple is between March and April, when devotees engage themselves in celebrating the birth anniversary of the Lord.

Palitana Jain Temples

The most sacred Palitana Jain temples are located in the Gujarat, the westernmost state of India. One can find a cluster of 863 temples, made of marbles and golds. It is one of the largest group of Jain pilgrimages on the earth and hence pulls countless crowds all the year round.

Pawapuri Tirth

Jain Tirtha Yatra is incomplete without a visit to Pawapuri Tirth, situated 90 kms from Patna, the capital of Bihar. It is one of the holy place, where Lord Mahavira, took his last breathe. His cremation has been performed here in 500 BC at the very location.
