Jailyn's Story - Part 1 and 2

So....this is different it starts out a bit slower than 'Jesse's Story' did, hope you enjoy it so far :)
Part 1
~What goes around comes around.~

01/01/10
Happy New Year! Fresh start to the New Year, I'm excited. Because guess what? My parole officer said the judge was going to let my last...'incident' slide because I was 'under pressure' to beat that girl up by James. Isn't that just insane?
Anyway I better get ready for school. HUGZ

"Jay, your breakfast is getting cold!" My mom Sara called from the kitchen. Sara isn't really my mom. She's my foster mom, Same with Tom he's my foster Father. They were actually nice enough to take me in when my selfish mother stuck me in a foster home after I was sent to jail for...well we really don't need to go there. I've been with the Payton's for a little over 5 years now. There rich. Like Rich out of their minds. Tom drives a Jag and Sara drives a BMW. My little sister Katy rides a five-hundred dollar bike to school. That says something.

"Kay! One second!" I said.
I examined myself in the mirror, my dark skinny jeans hugged me where they should, and my black spaghetti strap shirt showed every one of my curves, I grabbed my gold and black Basketball jacket off my bed and ran downstairs.
"Thanks, Mom" I said hopping down the stairs to the table.
Banana Pancakes. Yum, my favorite.

Katy was eating low-fat yogurt with bananas. She's ten; she doesn't need to worry about her weight just yet...
"I'll give you a ride to school today, Jay" Tom said from the other end of the table, he had rice crackers and low-fat butter sitting on a plate in front of him.

Another thing, no one in this house knows how to have a good meal.
"Kay sounds good, Dad" I mumbled in between bites.
Sara cleaned up the breakfast dishes, collected her briefcase and left for work; she's a well paid lawyer.

Katy finished her yogurt and cleaned her plate and put it away neatly, she collected her backpack and left for school, Katy's school is 2 minutes away from our house, and you could literally stand in our driveway and watch her ride over to the school.
I finished my pancakes and put my dishes in the sink, not bothering to wash the dish.
Tom stood up from the table and wiped is I only used it for crackers so it is not dirty plate and placed it back in the cumbered.

"Shall we go?" He asked.
"We shall" I said, grabbing my bag off couch and slipping my shoes on.
Tom followed shortly after with his briefcase and Bluetooth in hand; Tom was a very successful business man.

I hopped in my favorite car and pulled down the visor so I could see myself in the little mirror, My long lightly curled brown hair framed my high cheekbones, my hair color complimented my lightly tanned skin, and my golden honey colored eyes. Compared to everyone in my school I look like I just came from Jersey Shore and ended up in white Seattle.

My friend Tanya is pale, she looks albino.
We've been friends for a little over a year, when I first moved to Seattle I had no friends for like 3 years because I was the 'bad ass' I was picked on by the teachers, and all the students were scared of me.

After a first moved my parole ended early for good behavior, and I was able to sign up for my favorite sport. Boxing.
That's where I met Tanya. Ever since my first day there we've been friends.
Tom climbed into the car and backed down the drive-way, my school was 10 minutes away from my house.

Once we arrived Tanya casually walked over with a new kid I've never seen before. He was tall and very, very attractive...
Black hair, dark brown eyes almost black and he was tanned!
Most likely native, just like me, he was dressed in dark wash jeans and a simple black shirt. Yum.

"Eh, Jay!" Tanya said crushing me into a hug.
"Hey Tan, what's new?" I asked as she pulled back.
"Not much, just showing the new kid around" She said like he wasn't even standing next to her.
I laughed, "Since when are you a part of the welcoming committee?"
She shoved my arm and gave me 'The look'. Its way worse than having someone glare at you, it reaches right down to your soul. At least that's how I describe it anyway...
"Do you have a name?" I asked, seeing as Tanya was in no mood to talk to me for a couple of minutes.

"Vince" He said with a smile, showing his pearly whites.
I did a slow dramatic nod, "That's cool, I'm Jaylin, but TanTan here calls me Jay"
He nodded.
I gave Tanya a funny look and turned to walk away.

"See you guys later!" I called when I entered the school.
I turned back to smile at Tan, "Don't forget to have fun!" I said with a wink.
She glared and stormed away with Vince close behind her.
Socials is my first class, I made a mental note in my head: Skip.
I looked in my locker to see if I needed anything for my 'Trip' downtown.
I shrugged and put my bag in my locker and took my iPod out, stuffing it in my back pocket.

I left a few minutes before the bell rang; all I had to do was sprint to the back edge of the field.
After that I was home free.
"What are you doing?"
I froze. Shit, caught.

I turned to start explaining what I was 'actually doing' and then I stumbled backwards.
"What am I doing? What are you doing?" I said to the smiling Vince leaning casually against the doors to the school.

He shrugged, "Getting to know the school"
I let out a chuckle, "What happened to your tour guide?"
He smiled slightly, "She bailed on me as soon as the bell rang"
"Oh, well that was kind of rude" I said jokingly.
He cocked his head to the side, "I think I'll live"

I rolled my eyes.
"So you never answered my question" He said, he's eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Um, I take a shortcut to my classes" I said pointing to the opposite side of the school. My classes were actually right inside the door...
He mimicked my dramatic nod, and smiled.

"It looked like you were about to run. That way" He said pointing to a different direction I pointed to.
"Busted" I said holding out my wrists, Better cuff me before I get to aggressive.
He smiled, "Actually, would you mind if I joined you?"
My mouth hung open, "What?"
"You heard me" I said walking towards me.

"It's your first day. Don't you want to make a good impression...or something?" I asked turning to follow him. He was already on the field.
"Dude! Are you nuts!?" I called running to catch up to him.
"You have to run, or they'll see us!" I said.
I started to run up ahead, and when he kept walking I turned back and grabbed his wrist pulling him along behind me.
As soon as we reached the edge of the field I stopped.
"You good?" I asked.

He nodded, and walked down the little trail that led to the main highway.
I rolled my eyes and followed after him.
"So where did you come from anyway?" I asked catching up to walk beside him.
"Canada" He stated simply.
"That's cool..." I mumbled.
"Mhm" he said.
After that it was a quiet walk to town, we stopped at clothing stores, shoe stores we even made a Wal-Mart stop.
He insisted we stopped to get some food, I looked at the time on my phone, and it was noon.

"dammit!" I said, "We have to get back to school!"
He looked at me like I was crazy, "What's your rush?" He asked.
"What's my rush? My rush is that if we don't get back to school there going to send the cops after me!" I yelled turning to walk back the way we came.
"Hey, wait!" He called.
I stopped briefly to look at him, his expression was pleading.

"What?" I asked.
"Why the cops? Why not the teachers? Or your parents?" He asked.
I shook my head and backed away, "Trust me. You don't want to know"
I turned and sprinted back to the highway and up the trail. Tanya was standing on the other end of the field her toe tapping against a rock.
I ran to meet her, "What do think you're doing?" She asked, pulling my arm towards the school.
"I don't know I got distracted" I mumbled looking behind me. I wonder if he's coming back.
"Teachers?" I asked.
"Suspicious, but I think you're good if you go now" Tan said as she pushed me into the school.

"Ok, thanks Tan. You're the best!" I called when she ran to meet up with her P.E class.
She flipped me the finger as she ran away.
I laughed and got my binder and stuff from my locker. It was my lunch break this block anyway so it was all good.

As soon as the bell rang I walked into class and sat down at my desk.
Mr. L gave me a funny look but carried on with his teaching and didn't even bother to talk to me.

I took out my notebook and started taking notes that he was writing down on the board.
Someone knocked on the door, and Mr. L walked over to open the door, it was Vince.

"Sorry I'm late" He said walking through the door.
"Oh, No that's fine" Mr. L stated.
Vince smiled, "I kinda got lost looking for my classes..." He made eye contact with me for a split second before taking a seat at the front of the class. Two seats away from me.
I heard a few people behind me start whispering,

"Who is he?"
"He's so cute..."
"I wonder if he drives"
"I don't know, if he does were totally hanging at the mall one day"
"Yea, in your dreams"
"Yea, seriously. Look at him; he wouldn't go for girls like us"
I turned around, "Could you like, I dunno. Shut up?"
They scoffed at me.

I just smiled, "Thanks, it would be much appreciated"
"He wouldn't go for a girl like her ether..." They said trying to whisper, failing horribly.
Vince turned his head slightly and winked at me.
I didn't think anything of it until the girls behind me gasped.
"No way..." They all whispered.

Part 2 - Life Story
Get to know a little more about Jailyn.

After school I walked out onto the parking lot, I pulled out my phone to text Tom but I looked up to see James.
"Shit" I whispered.
He was leaning casually against his 1996 Mustang.
I slowly walked over to him, "What are you doing here?"
He shrugged and draped his arm over my shoulder, "Just came to see you, Baby"
I shook his arm off my shoulder, "Wait, aren't you on parole still? Won't your PO officer get mad that you're here?"
James smiled, "Nah, they won't even notice I'm gone"
I rolled my eyes, "Kay, nice chat. Now you need to leave"
He put his hands up in defense, "Wow, calm down baby, I came here to see you"
"Yea, I relies that, you seen me, now you need to leave"
"Look" He said harshly, my mouth clamped shut.

"There's a big drag race tonight going on downtown. You in?"
My heart started racing, I wanted to say yes. I loved drag racing ever since I was 12, even watching it on T.V.
"I can't, I promised my parents no more trouble...for a while" I said.
I sighed, "C'mon, Jay. It's not as fun without you there"
"I can't, James"
I put his hands on my shoulders, "Please, Jay!"
"No, Stop, you're hurting me!" I cried as his fingers dug into my shoulders.
Some kids turned to look at us, but they didn't care enough to go and get anyone.
"James, Stop!"
"No!"

He brought me around the passenger side of the car and opened the door.
"No! James, I don't want to!"
He had his arms around my waist so I put my feet up against the door so he couldn't push me inside.
"Hey!"
My head snapped sideways to see Vince.
"Help me" I mouthed.
"Just let her go, Man. She doesn't want to go" He said approaching us.
I dropped my feet and James pushed me so I was crushed up against the side of the car.
"Who the hell are you?" James spat.
"Vince" He said sarcastically, "Let go of her"
James shook his head, "You don't even know her, so back off"
Vince took a few steps so he was closer.

Just then the cops pulled into the school parking lot, they jumped out and ran towards us, "James didn't even have time to let go of me before they had him on the ground.
"Nice to see you again, James" His parole officer said.
I grunted at the weight on top of him.
"Are you alright, Jaylin?" Officer Ty asked.
I nodded, "Yea I'm fine"
Vince gave me a funny look and looked down at my wrist; it was red and bruised already.
I pulled the sleeve of my jacket down and walked with Officer Ty to his car, Vince followed closely after.
James was shoved into the car and was driven away.
Ty opened the door to his car and I sat on the seat facing outside.
Vince was asked some questions about what he saw and what he heard.

One of the cops came over and pointed to her forehead, I cocked my head to the side and realized she was talking about my head I looked in the review mirror and sighed, there was a cut just on my hair-line and it had a thin line of blood half way down the side of my face.
She went to the trunk of the car and grabbed the first aid kit, she pulled out some Kleenex and dabbed away the blood, than she sealed it up with some clear stuff I didn't know the name of.
"Thanks" I mumbled, she smiled and nodded putting the kit back into the trunk.
So far the New Year hasn't been so great.

They offered to drive me and Vince home but I shook my head, "It's ok, I don't need Sara getting all worked up and phoning you guys asking what happened"
Ty nodded, "Ok"
They drove off, leaving me and Vince the only ones left at school, besides some of the teachers.
"So are you going to tell me now?" He asked, we were sitting on the side-walk waiting for our parents to come pick us up.
"Tell you what?" I asked playing dumb.
"Why the cops are so involved in your life. Who was that guy? Why do they know you?" He said quietly.
I turned my head so I was looking at the field.

I took a deep breath and stared at the pavement below me, "It started when I was about eight. My mom wasn't very nice to me, let's put it that way. She would always yell at me for talking to my sisters or playing with them. She thought two children where enough for her, so I was the nobody I was always left behind. I babysit myself when I was two. I learned to cook for myself at five. I was independent."
Vince didn't say anything when I stopped so I kept going.

"Anyway, when I turned eight my mom thought it would be 'funny' if she left me at the store to see what I would do. I didn't do anything, I looked around the whole store and when I couldn't find her, I started walking home. I didn't cry, I didn't ask anybody, if they seen her I just left. On my way home I took a shortcut through the ally and I seen these...people. They were different. They drove fancy cars although they didn't look like they were rich out of their mind. They wore nice clothes, Gold. Silver. Metallic black. At that moment I said to myself. I want to be like them. To me at that age they were awesome. I simply walked up to them and said -"Nice car"- and kept walking. One of them grabbed my arm and spun me around looking dead into my eyes. -"What's your name, kid?"- James asked, and I told him my name. That day I became one of them"
Vince stared at me, "What's so bad being of them then?"

Confusion clouding his eyes.
I smiled, "They stole cars, Vince"
He nodded slightly, "And you did to?" He whispered.
"Yea" I said, my throat was dry. Looking back on it, I made a huge mistake in my life. Huge.
"What happened with your mom any everything?" He asked.

"Eventually she found out what I was up to, and she stuck me in a foster home when I was 11. By then I've stolen over thirty cars, I ran away as soon as the lights were out, back on the streets with James. At first James was my big brother. Then he became more than that at 14. He hurt me a lot. But the girls in our 'group' said it was just James and that he loved me. But he never actually did unless I pleased him with the nicest cars in Seattle. The cops knew who I was the first time they arrested me when I was 11. I was scared to death at what would happen to me. But they let me go with a warning because I was forced to and I was under age. It never really hit me to stop. Or to confront James about it, I was scared of him, everyone was. I only did it for the money. That's I wanted out of the deal, I'd get over a thousand dollars from stealing a car, I always bought the most expensive clothing I could get my hands on. Some Shoes I got would use up the whole thousand dollars but I didn't care because I would just go out and get another car"
Vince was speechless, his mouth hung open a little bit and his hands clamped together.

"Don't do that, you're the one who wanted to know"
"Who do you live with now?" he asked.
"Sara and Tom, There awesome. I love them to death" I said.
He nodded, "Have you...seen your mom since...that happened?"
I shook my head, "I hope I never do"
He nodded again, "What's that from?" He asked running a smooth finger over the cuts on my knuckles.
I sighed, "That's another thing James liked about me. I was a good fighter"
He looked at me, "Did you...kill anyone?" He breathed.
I laughed, "Hell No!"
"Thank god" he said.

I smiled slightly, "Nah, I just get 'em down long enough to take their car. But sometimes it results in me beating someone up because we didn't get our money. At least that what happened a couple of months ago..."
He didn't say anything.
"So yea, the cops and I are best friends and I've been a criminal since I was eight" I said simply.
"Rough life" He said.
"Yea really" I said.
We sat in silence for a little while, a question crossed my mind.
"So I've told you my life story, what about you?" I asked.
We stared at each other for a minute, "We'll save that one for a rainy day" He said with a wink. He stood up brushing the dirt of his backside.
"Wait, you're leaving?" I asked, he nodded simply and walked towards the only car left in the parking lot, a 2011 xKr Jaguar.
Who is this Guy?
What did you think?
I like it!
Good start!
Ifffy
