Its Ok Not to Be Happy With Your Life

What is it that has stopped you from having a successful business, good marriage, or owning that dream home? Martin Kelly takes a humorous look at what really holds us back and it is not just the lack of money.
If you want to make changes in your life then you have to make changes in your life.
Few of us can truly say that we are happy with are lot. Whether that be the place that you reside, the job that you have, the partner that you live with, the shape that we are or the amount of money we have to spend.

Each and every day you meet the down trodden lifeless empty shell of where once life was lived but now is endured. Head down, shoulders up and back stooped as they shuffle there way through the treadmill of every day existence.

Warning, Danger! Warning, Danger!

We seem to be obsessed with having warnings on every thing these days, even packets of peanuts come with there warning to the unknowing half wit; that this product may contain nuts. So why is it that when faced with oncoming assault of bad attitude from the doom and gloom merchants there is no big warning sign that says this person can harm your life.

Take head my friend and be for armed, the woe is me, is highly contagious.

You may indeed be feeling on top of the world when you carelessly throw out your good morning and how are you? Only to be told in long great detail just how they are not. I was once told that when some one asks said question, 50% of the people are not really that interested in how you respond and the other 50% are hopping you have more problems than they do ( but I only jest, it could not possibly be that high).

Its ok not to be happy with your lot. Let me say this again, so you take notice. It is ok not to be happy with your lot, in fact I encourage it. What is not ok, is to be seen as the victim to this unknown force that has kept you entrapped by your own circumstance. This is what sorts the diamonds from the rough. Never mind if the glass is half full or half empty. Just drink from it and then work on how to get the next one and the one after that.

It is time to take back control of your life. It takes great strength of mind and a willingness to make changes, some that will indeed be difficult. Take a step away from yourself. Imagine that you could step out of your own body and take an objective view of what you were doing. Ask this other you what-ever you like and see how they respond (best do this in your head so that your mates stay in touch). Analyse why they think you are at the place that you are not content with, and how they would change this. So at first it seems a bit silly but do it any way. Inside each and every one of us a pure genius resides which can be taped if only we keep asking the right questions.

So you scoff when I simplify that you have all the answers to changing the things you wish to change all but for the asking. Well let me ask you this then. Is it not for listening to that other voice within your head that has kept you where you are now for how ever long it has been?

No magical potions or hocus pocus. Just simple facts, ask better questions, gets better answers. Then when acted upon, will inevitably lead to better results. No need to over complicate it. This is no dress rehearsal, so live the life the way you wish to live and encourage others by your example to achieve the same.

It is incredible how strong the power of the mind truly is. It is indeed a power, one which will either work for you or against you. The strange truth is that most choose the latter not believing that they can have or deserve to have the niceties of life. For some unbeknown reason it just is easier to believe the worse. To take back control of your life you must first take control of your mind.

A simple exercise to achieve this is to put a rubber band around your wrist. Sorry you will have to wear this continuously for the next 4 weeks. If anyone asks you why, just tell them it is to stop you answering stupid questions. Now throughout each of the days for the next 4 weeks take note of what is going on in your head and which voice you are listening to and more importantly being influenced by.

This is where making changes becomes pain-full because each time you become aware of that negative voice stopping you from achieving or hindering your progress; Snap goes that rubber band. There is no room for negativity in the human mind, whether that be about yourself or others. It is a cancer that will eat away at your business, relationships and belief system, so snap, snap until you control what is, your own dominating thoughts.

Progress does not come from standing still so being happy with your lot is not such a great deal after all.
