"It's Ok Mom, I'll Be Ok!"

Another example of "Empty Nest Syndrome".
"It's Ok Mom, I'll Be Ok!"
As I've always said,

"When the last of my children leave

It will hurt, but I'll get past it".

~~~
Well, I quote from myself
& as I once phrased,
"The last of my train",
In comparison to a Kaboose
On the end of a train.
~~~
Yes, she moved

Out & I'm really feeling the loneliness,

The emptiness that a

Mother feels when all her children

Have Matured & left.

~~~
I thought I could handle it.
I even told others it would be a good
Thing to have "peace & quiet".
Oh my,......the train just blasted me
Right in the rear! It wasn't the
Engine....it was the Kaboose!
~~~
"It's ok Mom, I'll Be Ok."

~~~
When the lights go down,
When the music stops.
Reality steps forth,
They've left, they've gone.
No one is here,
No one will come.
The last just left,
You're all alone.
Reminders of when,
They were small.
Then suddenly, they all grow tall.
Whether in their mind or height,
Who cares.
They're still our babies,
Always small & still be scared.
The empty nest?... you say I have?
Oh yes I do, you don't know...
Do you even care?
No, you'll not know until that day.
When your own child just walks away.
Looks at you & says with straight face,
"It's ok Mom, I'll be ok."
~~And I vision those kindergarten days~~
