It’s Just a Season

Nothing is permanent in life: seasons change just as our circumstances change. Today we may be on top of the world or in the deepest of valleys but who knows what tomorrow has in store?
There is a tree named the chestnut tree, it produces sweet chestnuts; Marron or the Sweet chestnut, is a species mainly found in Europe and it has a particular characteristic that draws attention especially in the spring when you look at the forest. For instance, the forest covered heals of my cities’ outskirts offer an absolutely charming view with all that fresh green and trees in bloom…with a few exceptions namely some spots in the forest where it seems that the trees have died. I used to see that in my childhood quite often and I was always sorry for those threes that I thought could not make it through the winter. But, the story does not end here, those trees that during April May and even June, seem dead, those are the chestnut trees that only blossom in late June and July. I love those fried chestnuts, they go so well with fresh grape juice!

However, the point I want to make is that it is the same in our lives sometimes. You look around and it seems like everyone is "in bloom" but you. You keep doing the right thing, keep seeding those seeds of goodness yet the people around you seem to be just as bitter as always or maybe getting even worse. Spring came but your tree still looks dead. Remember that just like that chestnut tree, your time is coming and the outcome is worth waiting for!

God says that He will give double reward for your troubles so don’t lose hope! Who would have said that the blind would see, especially if he was born that way? With no hope around him, the blind man Jesus healed could have easily said "I will always be like this; this problem is never going to leave". Yet, when he encountered Jesus Christ, the situation changed all of a sudden!

You know, even if it blooms later, the chestnut tree seems to know how to make up for the lost time. It does produce it’s fruit in time!

A well known evangelist was telling how this couple were trying to have children and they have seen all kinds of doctors, tried different treatments yet, nothing, she was not getting pregnant (they were in their late thirties). The evangelist prayed for them and said to them:"By this time next year you will have a baby."

Time passed, and indeed, approximately one year later this evangelist got a phone call, it was the woman’s mother on the phone and said:"Sir, do you remember praying for my daughter one year ago? Well, you said she would have a baby, but you were wrong! She is in the hospital now giving birth to triplets!"

Yes, not just a baby but three of them! God really knows how to make up for the lost time!

If you are struggling today with some disease, a financial problem or maybe difficulties in your relationships don’t look at those things thinking "It will never change!" Rather remember that not all trees bloom in the same time! We are all unique but one thing is true for all of us and that is what God has to say about our situation/problem! God said He will give His Children a future and a hope!

Stir up your faith, ask God for help and don’t give in! Just remember that season change as well as your circumstances. You never know how and when God is going to intervene His way, maybe not using the modality you expected but if you are His child, you can rest assured that He has your best interest in mind!

Your Heavenly Father is not in a crisis, He is pleased to bless you! It is very important that we remember these things especially when we are discouraged, and it is so easy to get discouraged these days! However, do your part, know what God has to say about your situation, ask for His help and you will make it through your winter, what’s more, your tree will be better off than before!

Don’t forget: chestnuts bloom in late June or July, their spring is what we know as summer, yet they bring their fruit in time. Just the same, the season in your life might not be the same as the seasons in the life of your friends but your "spring" is on its way!
