It's Funny How Quickly Normal Can Change (Part 2)
Hi this is a continuation of, It's funny how quickly normal can change. I know it's a bit slow at the moment but it will get better - please comment xx
Every night is the same, I wake up (or so I think) and feel something compelling me to get up. Something pulling me like a magnet down to the couch. I make my way slowly down and collapse on the couch to wake up (properly this time) in a sleeping position. Even though I know what has happened afterwards, at the time, my brain does not seem to process that I am sleepwalking, I am just pulled forward.
Every morning I get up (from the couch) and have breakfast. This is either bacon and eggs (if mum has decided to get up early and walk the dog) or cereal (if she can't be bothered and is still in bed). I get into my slightly-shorter-than-regulation-length uniform and make my way to the corner of the street which is where I meet Amy, at 8:00 every morning. We make the slow ascent up the hill to the bus stop, just in time for the 8:10 bus. It is only a ten minute walk up a hill that is not very steep, but in the hot weather, it seems like a mountain, getting steeper and higher with each step. The bus ride is short but relaxing after the walk. We have ten minutes to catch up on any goss that has emerged between the lengthy time since we last saw each other (one night!).
We arrive at school and our other friends Zoe and Trish greet us at the gate with many hugs and kisses. The teaches raise their eyebrows at such a greeting after one day of parting but we couldn't care less. I tell by the excited look on Zoe's face that she was bursting to tell us something but before she could utter a word the 8:30 bell rang. We trudged to our first period which was...Maths, yuck. The only consolation was that we all had it together, so maybe I would be able to find out what Zoe knew. We sat down and were greeted with a lecture on negative indices. While Mrs Tenny's voice droned on I motioned to Zoe and she slipped me a note under the table. "Pass it on when you've read it" she hissed. Mrs Tenny glanced up briefly but then continued with her riveting lecture. I glanced down at the paper It read:
This morning I awoke to the sound of trucks rumbling down the street and stopping next door. I looked out the window and it appears that after Mrs Greyn died Mr Greyn sold the house and moved to live with their son for he couldn't cope by himself. Of course that's really sad and we'll miss him and all, but it means not only do we have NEW NEIGHBORS and not only is one of them a girl who is COMING TO OUR SCHOOL and is IN OUR YEAR but she also has a REALLY HOT BROTHER WHO IS ALSO COMING HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is in the year above us and his name is Michael.
Pass this on!
I passed it on to Amy who was on my right. I saw Zoe staring knowingly at me and raising her eyebrows suggestively. I knew what she had in mind. Zoe had a steady boyfriend already (4 months and counting), Trish had just started going out with a guy in her biology class (although it was early days they had a lot in common and really seemed to like each other) and Amy was in love with a guy across the road from her (he was pretty good looking but not really my type - good for Amy though). I was the only one in the group with a totally loveless life. Obviously Zoe had decided that was about to change. I wondered about this guy. I'd have to meet him before I decided anything but I'd always wanted a boyfriend. No one really seemed to like me though besides a boy in my science class who was a massive nerd and had told me that I looked like his pet frog (his idea of a compliment). Somehow I doubted this guy would be any different.
