Of the 40 ISKCON temples all over the India, the temple in Bangalore is popular in the whole world. It was constructed in the memory of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder Acharya of the Hare Krishna movement. Devotees also call the shrine as Shri Shri Radha Krishna Chandra Temple and it has been estimated that the temple receives more then 5.1 million visitors, a year.

ISKCON Temple Architecture

With holding the largest temple complex in the world, Shri Radha Krishna Chandra Temple was built by ISKCON in 1997. It was constructed following the Neo-classical style of architecture and the temple was designed by Jagat Chandra Dasa, who has put all best effort to mingle traditional South Indian style with modern architecture. The arches and water jets are beautiful carved out and attractive paintings are festooned on each corner. The main hall of the temple measures around 10, 000 sq.feet and paves the way to the three shrines, including the main one.

The green gardens in the temple area are managed in such a way that their fragrance sweep away the weariness of travelers, visiting here.

ISKCON Temple Festival in Bangalore

The best time to make a religious trip to Bangalore, is during the festival of Janmashtami (August) when the temple glitter with the decorated lights. Devotees receives loads of enthusiasm for offering prayer to Lord Krishna and participating in folk programs like Krishna Leela, dance music etc. Visitors are offered 'prasadam' free of cost and sometime, books carrying religious themes are also distributed.
A practical session of Vedic philosophy and culture are organized on every Saturdays and Sundays.

Other programs like Cow Protection Program, Multivision Cinema, Dakshinakriti and lot more are organized by the association taking care of the temples.
