Is That Possible?

In life there is a glimmer of hope, held by one person. Will you be that one for me?
In this current day and age,
Is it possible to feel?
In a world that is speeding past us,
Are blind to the pain we deal?

He stands by the side of the road,
His wings spread out behind him.
He stands with a hand stretched out,
Though his light is quite dim.

He stands only to help others,
Taking on their pain.
For he has been dealt so much,
That the only way to wash clean,
Is through the rain.

He watches as people pass him,
Not noticing his outstretched arm.
Not noticing his look of kindness,
Or that he simply is free of harm.

His arms are marked by others,
His chest holds a permanent scar.
Yet his eyes hold a kindness to them,
Seemingly standing there without a care.

His jeans torn from the years of running,
Yet his bare feet are yet still young.
He has seen the many roads of travel,
Yet just stands by the side of the life-long road.

His father looks down upon him with a glimmer of hope,
That his son has finally seen.
What it is in life that he has been placed in,
To join the many others in a grand scheme.

Yet with every person that embraces the angel,
Another wound begins to show.
For that person than leaves a better person,
Yet the angel’s wings and soul remain torn.

His legs buckle underneath the sorrow,
For the world that continues to grow.
In a world that is taught its beings to take every advantage,
Is it possible to live with a sense of no show?

To live without any sparkle,
Yet hold a gentle light.
To show the people that run on the road,
That there is a better reason to not give up the fight.

But to instead change your way of thinking,
To look at the entire finished picture.
To see the others that stand at the side of the road,
With their hearts that are eternal pitchers.

Eternal pitchers that hold unconditional kindness,
Behind open arms of welcome they stand.
Yet the travelers of life continue on,
Seemingly never to understand.

Yet he continues to stand for the hope,
That with each face that passes by,
One person might see his rescue rope.
