Is Spotting Between Periods Normal
Not always, females! One of the most worrisome situations for a woman is spotting between periods. Normal though, but bleeding between your menstrual cycle can shake your timing. Let's get acquainted with more of it...

Spotting Between Periods: Causes
There can be various causes of spotting between periods both by itself, or by some other health ailments. Let us get acquainted with them all.
Firstly, this condition is highly associated with pregnancy. Hence, for women who are in their child-bearing age can experience bleeding between periods. Same is the case with pregnant women, as they can experience spotting too.
Secondly, hormonal transformations are a chief cause of spotting between periods. Many women experience changes in the levels of reproductive hormones as a result of stress, diet, work pattern, etc.
Thirdly, post intercourse, many women may experience bleeding which highly indicates that they might have caught a sexually transmitted disease (STD). This should be immediately informed to a doctor, as STDs can be hazardous to your health, and cause countless issues associated with ovulation and fertility.
Fourthly, cervical cancer or cancer in the womb of a female is a critical cause of this condition. The chances of cervical cancer are not high though, and are a case with only a small segment of females.
Apart from the above four serious causes of spotting between your menstrual cycle, following is a list of some other less critical, but certainly not negligible, causes of vaginal bleeding.
- Birth Control Pills
- Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)
- Breakthrough Bleeding
- Intrauterine Devices (IUD)
- Ectopic Pregnancy
- Miscarriage
- Deficiency of Estrogen
- Vaginal Diseases
Without panicking, the first thing that you're supposed to do is immediately visit a gynecologist in case of heavy bleeding. It is highly essential to keep track of the bleeding pattern, as every treatment would depend upon how excessively you are bleeding. Secondly, include a lot of fruits and vegetables into your diet. As clichéd as it may sound, vitamins have a lot of contribution to your health, and for a health issue like this, intake of fruits and vegetables is a must.
Exercise regularly. However, don't overdo. While stress is the key cause of spotting in between your menstrual cycle, exercising can help reduce it, and keep your metabolism in control. Another thing to be kept in mind is to use a lubricant during sexual intercourse. Spotting usually occurs when improper intercourse causes small tears in the vaginal wall. Lastly, get a pregnancy test done if you think you can be pregnant. Vaginal discharge in the form of blood can have some extremely serious effects on your health, and hence, it is important not to ignore any single cause. You have to make sure you tell your physician about everything, and do not shy away. Only then will your doctor be able to give you a proper treatment.
Till date, you just thought it is a normal thing to bleed between your periodic cycle. However, after going through the above information, it becomes difficult to assume that this condition is a normal one. While prevention is better than cure, proper medication should be the top most priority. After all, it is we women that the world is dependent on for giving birth to a different life on earth, isn't it?
