Is MLM Originated from the Concept called ‘Word of Mouth?

Network Marketing or multi level marketing is originated from the concept called ‘word of mouth’ based on trust and relationship. In the ancient times, the Egyptians used to advertise the succession of royalty through network marketing. The words spread were the products and were distributed through Multi Level Marketing. These were the basics of MLM.

Word of mouth was again effective in ancient America because it was considered to be the most trusted way to relay messages amongst people in various regions of the world. They used this word of mouth to convey messages to their families who were still in Europe. Moreover, it maintained a chain that might have created problem, if broken. Thus evolved the concept of Network Marketing.

Even in the automobile industry, MLM proved to be effective since its inception. The term MLM was coined in 1930s but the concept was in use even before that. The car manufacturers during that time were already using the networking skills to sell their automobiles and each person involved in doing the same earned a commission.

Later when traveling became easier, the concept of door to door sales became popular. The manufacturers identified the new ideas of network marketing and developed knowledge about how to make their presence felt in the market. At the same time, they learned the technique of gaining sponsorships through the word of mouth. And with this started the MLM business that is driven by sponsors and the word of mouth.

Today, network marketing or multi level marketing can be said to be the best and trouble-free way to make easy money. People enjoy the independence of working with MLM and at the same time bring a lot of money back home. What is required is a little effort at the beginning and earn for a lifetime.
