Is Love Blind? Chapter 6
I was walking on clouds (metaphorically) as literally I was walking towards the office. The snack or whatever you want to call it had been fabulous. Samuel had been funny, attentive and so charming. He had been sorry about the incident also he had asked me more about Snehal and my seniors. I had been so happy to be with him that I had never given it a thought but answered him honestly. I had been thinking that he is the best CEO to have this much personal interest in the employees.
We had gone to snack joint and had a sandwich, while walking back to the office he had asked me if I liked working in the office, I had been on verge of shouting that I love it because I can see you everyday. But I resisted and answered him coolly.
We reached office and I saw everyone looking at us. There was still no sign of Snehal. As soon as I sat Mahi called me on my extension and I couldn't resist a smile. We were still behaving like we were in school but I loved it.
"Tell me all the details, don't even think about omitting or editing" She started as soon as I answered.
"Mahi, this is not the place to discuss it. Come to my place tomorrow morning I'll tell you everything"
"Okay. Fine" Mahi agreed and kept the phone.
To happy to do anything she started her work and cheerfully finished it.

Harshit was sitting in his seat and looking at the new data he was working on. Soon his cabin door opened and Sam walked in. They were partners and had the same rank so no need for knocking. But more than that they were friends. And he knew what Sam had been up to.
Silently Sam came in and sat on the chair facing Harshit.
Harshit kept working, he knew why Sam had come and he would start talking once he was settled in. So Harshit kept working and waited.
"You know that girl Snehal used to insult many people and was quite partial in the team" Sam stated.
"Who told you that?" Harshit knew who had told his friend but he wanted it from his mouth.
"Aashi. Nice name huh?" Sam said with a smile.
"You think it is ethical to take an employee out and ask her for the office gossip where she thinks you did this out of goodness of your heart"
Samuel laughed and looked at his friend. "Look, Harsh. I didn't want her to tell others about the incident it was bad publicity man and I wanted to know about the other things. If HR would have asked I am not sure they would have gotten the entire thing out of her. So I tried and it worked I got to know more about them" he said and went out.
Harshit knew that Sam was right, with HR they wouldn't have told all the things to them, but he didn't like Sam's method. But he also knew it was pointless to tell him that.
Sam knew the effect he had on women and he used it when he wanted to, he himself had never felt anything about it. But this time there was an innocent girl involved and she may not be aware of Sam's game.
But she also liked Sam as she had been more than happy to go with him. So there was nothing he could do and he didn't want to do anything he reminded himself and concentrated on the work at hand.

Next day there was the test, all the people who had applied had been called early. I reached on time and went in the training room where everyone had something to read. I was not sure why they were reading. It was a process test, not some school exam they had to ace. Some girls had printouts, some had some papers with them. Smiling at Jaya one of the trainers I went in and sat on the first bench. Jaya had been my trainer when I had joined and I respected her a lot.
"Hey Jaya, how are you?" I asked her and she smiled at me. Jaya was nearly in her mid thirties, a south Indian. She looked totally like a mother figure, she had a habit of gesturing a lot with her hands while teaching. All her students liked and respected her.
"Hey Aashi, How are you? I heard what Snehal said to you. Don't take it to heart sweetheart. She was just jealous of you"
I smiled at her and I knew that she meant what she said. Soon Mohan came in he was the manager of Training and everyone was afraid of him. He was little shy of 6 feet, bald with French beard, and had a stern looking face. He was also a south Indian. He came and everyone in the room was silent, they all feared him, well I too feared him but I knew he had soft heart.
He smiled at me while walking in the aisle. This was the normal training room divided in two parts. On both sides there were couples of computers.
He didn't say anything but then just walked in the room and stood in a corner. And Jaya started speaking.
"Ok, guys. You all are here for the test. It would be a written test. The paper is going to question you mostly It is a hundred marks test and you have 1 hour to finish it. Even grammar test is included in the paper. All the best Everyone."
Soon papers were passed and we started filling it.

The test was good, I bet Mohan had made the paper. It had all the tricky and difficult questions, it was a good thing I had a good memory. Grammar was easy, I had finished the paper in 40 minutes. So I checked it again, satisfied I gave it to Jaya and left the room.
As soon as I came out I met Harshit in the lobby, he had his mug in his hand. "So how was the test?" he asked me.
"Good" I answered his smiling at him, he just nodded at went.
I was not sure but I smiled at the encounter. Harshit was a good guy but somehow he didn't let people come close to him. I bet he would he would look if he smiled which he didn't
Soon I saw Mahi and her angry face and realized that I had called her at my place in the morning and I had come to office. Shit, she was angry now.
So I went hurriedly after to placate her as best I could forgetting Harshit.
