Is Love Blind? Chapter Five

Well, apart from knowing that Harshit has a sexy butt, I knew nothing else about him. After leaving from office he only asked me my address which I gave him, the rest of the ride had been in silent. He didn't even ask me my name, I had been hoping that after knowing about me he would mention me and the incident to Sam. I know I am pathetic but I couldn't help it, of course I thought about it after I reached home. In the meanwhile I had been thinking about how much Snehal hated me and what all she thought about me. Did she really think that I was sleeping with Vaibhav and that's why he's talking to me? But then I also remembered what Harshit had said and I realized that he had been right.

Well after reaching home I started thinking about how Sam would've reacted and how would he react when he knew. But then I realized that Harshit hadn't asked me my name. Maybe he had heard it when Snehal had said my name. But that was too dicey.

Aashi you are a mess, well I knew that as I should be thanking Harshit but here I am thinking why didn't he ask me my name. Well even if Sam doesn't know about me the bonus was that someone in management now knew how Snehal really was. And the angry way Harshit had looked at her had made me scared too. Well I hadn't asked what he planned to do tomorrow, but it would soon enough and I would know. Thinking that I went to sleep.

In the Afternoon.

Afternoon shifts were good but your entire day was gone. As you reach late in the night you get up late and then in the afternoon have to come to the office. So there is no time for yourself but people like me who love to sleep don't mind much. As soon as I reached office Mahi grabbed my hand and made me sit next to her.

"Mahi you'll pull out my hand. What happened?" I told Mahi while rubbing my arm.

"I don't know. No one knows but it seems all the seniors have been called for the meeting. We don't know why. We still have time to log in, come, we'll have tea"

Before I could answer I was pulled AGAIN by Mahi mercilessly. I didn't try to pull or say anything as I knew that it would be useless. So I went along and waited till she took tea and stood facing me.

"So as I was saying something big is happening. All the ad-hocs are present but Snehal is missing and" Before she could finish I had to say things or else I would never be able to tell her.

"Mahi. Listen. To. Me. " When I knew I had her attention I took a deep breath and told her the entire incident. After I finished I waited and waited and as Mahi was silent which was a sure sign that now there will be a storm soon.
She didn't disappoint me,

"WHAT THE HELL AASHI? You knew everything and didn't tell me. That bitch told you so much and you didn't tell me last night. Forget last night you couldn't tell me this morning."

I had to squeeze her shoulders to make her stop talking which she did.

"I am sorry, last night I didn't think. And today I thought I'll meet you in office and tell you" I could see the question and disbelief in her eyes and before she could begin I had to convince her.

"Look, Snehal is a bitch we know it. What she said to me did hurt me but then Harshit handled her well and I didn't want to make it an issue. So don't think so much let's go and find out what's happening there"

Thankfully Mahi understood my point and didn't pursue the matter. Soon we were on the floor and we saw that nothing had changed. Seniors were still in the meeting and Snehal was still missing. Then it was time for us to log in but before I could sit and log in I was called by Renu (Our HR head). Everyone was scared of her but she was good, she didn't take nonsense from anyone.

I glanced at Mahi and left the room to go to the similar meeting room. The room was filled with our managers and TLs. Snehal was nowhere in sight. I started wondering where she was, but then I saw Harshit who nodded at me.

"Ah Here you are. Please come in." This was from Samuel and he was smiling at me. I smiled back nervously there was so many people in the room and I didn't have time to be happy about seeing Sam. As soon as I got in everyone was staring at me. Nervously I stepped inside and looked at everyone, soon I noticed Vaibhav and smiled at him.

"Don't be nervous Aashi. Come inside" Samuel said again and somehow his voice calmed me.

I went little more inside the room and stood with my hands crossed on my chest. Renu came in front of me and smiled at me, I too smiled back her. There was too much smiling happening here.

"Aashi. Harshit told us what happened yesterday and we know what Snehal told you. We will take necessary action for her. I on behalf of everyone in the management want to apologize to you"

I was a little overwhelmed with the things I was hearing, "There is no need for you or others to apologize. It was no one's fault." I said and Renu nodded to me.

"That's kind of you, but what we understood from this incident is that we need to get a feedback from executives about their reporting seniors. There might be things we overlooked and we need to know now what happens on the floor."

There was nothing I could say to that so I just nodded. I knew that my work here was done, there was nothing more I could do. I turned and left the room, I had been expecting more of details but I knew as being an executive I'll get less.

As soon as I came out Mahi and others from my team were calling me, I started walking also toward them thinking how much should I tell them? But I was stopped by hand on my shoulder. Before I could turn I had seen Mahi's mouth making O, curiously I turned and found myself staring at the green eyes of Samuel.

"Hi, sorry to interrupt but have you had lunch?"

Well, basically in front of him I become speechless but I also had to remember that I didn't want him to think I was stupid or brainless. So I made an effort and answered him, "No need to be sorry, I was just going to log in and start working. And yes I have had lunch before coming to work"

He smiled at my answer and I sighed silently.

"Ok, then what about in between snack with me?"

Well he was the boss and how could I say no, so I nodded to him. "I'll just tell Vaibhav my TL and come."

Before I could I pass him and go inside to tell Vaibhav, he stopped me AGAIN. "No need, I have told him already. Let's go"

Okay, Okay I am going out god knows where with Samuel (The love of my life). I wanted to shout and sing and dance but as I didn't do any of those things showed the level of control I had.

I turned to say bye to Mahi who's mouth was still open as O. Then I noticed Harshit coming out of the meeting room and looking at me. I was not sure whether to smile or wave at him. I wanted for him to do something but he did nothing and went towards his office. I shrugged who cared what Harshit said or did, I was with Sam and I planned to treasure it as much as I could.
