What I did in the beginning that almost did me in was spend a good amount of money on some things before I even had a clue what I was doing. Then, after about a month, I thought I knew a lot. Well, I knew a lot compared to the nothing I started out knowing, but, I still knew very little. It was about a month after this that I had a moment of clarity. I admitted to myself that I needed to do some things differently.

What I did at this point was, decide to not focus on the money I wanted to make, or wasn’t making. Do you know why clichés are clichés? Because they are true. I was literally putting the cart before the horse. I needed to take the time to learn how to earn. And, I didn’t need to worry about how fast or slow I was learning. I just had to do the best I could, and, compare myself to myself.

The only thing was, where would I do this. I began to scour the internet looking for how I could do this. Ad after ad told me how I would be a superstar overnight, and I wouldn’t have to do anything to make it happen. I already knew these things wouldn’t work for me. Then, one day I came across a very low key ad that talked about taking time to learn. Actually, the phrase he used was, learn how to fish. If you just give a man a fish, he will eat for a day, but if you teach him how to fish, he will learn how to eat for a lifetime. I’m sure you’ve heard of this. Well, I can not tell you the feeling I got when I read this. I knew instantly that I had found the answer for me.
