Is He There?

It is more and more common to meet helpless people all around us, discouraged people and many of them in great pain. The question that pops out at this site could be: is there a God of mercy? Do we have a God that is in control? Does He know my situation?
We can ask a lot of questions in situations of great pain: "Was He absent when the crime happened? Why didn't He do anything? Has He any clue of what I endure? And most of us cannot even imagine how a wife can endure life after her husband's pass away when she suddenly faces the world alone, pregnant, and a three year old saying: "Mom, where is daddy ? When is he coming back? I miss him." Where can we find words to comfort this lady? Or does she need words? Also, a couple that wants a child so much and finally he comes, what a joy he brings in this family! Yet, a final answer comes at the age of 21st when this boy is killed in a car accident. What comfort could anyone offer? Oh dear heavenly Father, do you hear us? Do you see us? Can YOU hold us in your arms?

When Jesus came on Earth, and when He saw Mary and Martha crying after their brother Lazarus He cried with them. Surely, the Almighty God cares about our fillings He is there with us, regardless of the circumstances. Blessed be His holy Name forever, we are not alone! Still, we are inevitably hurt in this world, we suffer because of the evil that came with Adam's fall into sin. Can we go so deep with our limited judgment to explain every tragedy? God said it is His will to save everyone yet, is everyone saved? He sent salvation to all people but He doesn't force it on us because it is against God's very nature, He is love! He is love but HE is also righteousness, perfect justice and when love and justice are combined we as people are puzzled. Christ is the answer and the way to have both love and justice satisfied. Oh what a price! How humble God Himself become for us! Didn't evil hurt God much more than it hurt us? Wasn't there the greatest injustice performed with Christ's crucifixion?

We can say that what happens to us is sometimes a result of our own disobedience to God, and our sin turns against us, but Christ had no sins and His suffering was the greatest of them all! God gave His BEST and in the New Testament we see Jesus 100% God and 100% man as He came to repair the relation between Father God and humanity. So He dwelt among us because He loved and still loves us. He wants us to be with Him in the place He prepared for us.

Yes, God the Father is full of mercy and the Bible says that He cannot even look at evil, He despises it so much. He was there when the crime happened. In His great plan, the murderer is loved (not his deed, but him as human being) as much as any man is loved. And the price for each one of us is the precious blood of His Son Jesus Christ.

When we look around at creation, and for example, we see how majestically all snowflakes were created, each unique in their own appearance, we enjoy God's garden, everything He created, and wonder, isn't this a Wonderful God? Then why so much pain?

All we can say is that life exists because of God, HE caused it HE sustains it, HE gave us instructions for it. It is about how I follow His instructions and my attitude in front of this all.

Yes God is a merciful God. Yes He is still in control. How do we know that? By faith! Without faith is impossible to please Him. He gave us promises and brings them to pass! He will be with us in times of trouble, we have nothing to fear. We see the answer here, the foundation is God and His eternal plan: "yes my child I love you with an eternal love, you are Mine, I created you I knew you before you were born, I redeemed you, I died for you".

Even if just like Job we do not understand why bad things happen to good people, we can trust God who says that He will not allow more than we can bear and God says in the Bible that He doesn't tempt anyone, we are tempted by our own lusts that dwell within us from our corrupt nature, that's why we can only make the best of this human experience by the power of the only man and God at the same time, who defeated all evil and defeated the origin of evil, namely Satan.

Regardless of how hard the lion would roar, remember that it is defeated and his power stays in his deceitful nature but God gave His people clear instructions about the enemy's plans, that's why, those who know God will overcome everything, every hardship because they are not alone: Jesus Christ, the beginning and the end, alpha and omega remains with all those who want to receive Him.
