Irunara: The Siren's Voice: Prolouge

/|The prologue explaining Irunara and Raiden's adopted family|\ Raiden was abandon as a child and adopted by a family of Irunara like him. But he is different. His voice was his power and was as deadly as a siren's song...
The room was dark, the sun had not yet risen, and yet a nocturnal soul was lurking. His footsteps echoed on the floor along with inaudible murmurs of his voice. The long hallway's white walls glowed in the moonlight through the sheer black curtains. The soul walked outside and stared with seemingly no aim off into the garden. His raven black hair was still as his crystal blue eyes scanned the yard. Porcelain colored hand reached out and pushed aside a couch that resided on the porch and the smell of flowers invaded his senses. He recoiled quickly and began coughing as a little girl giggled and jumped up with a bouquet of black and red roses.

"Ha ha!" she giggled, "I didn't think you'd find me so quickly in the rose garden." She blinked her emerald green eyes and swung back and forth happily. The boy scoffed and brushed a hand across his nose.

"I probably would have found you quicker if you weren't holding those awful roses." He recoiled as he looked away. The girl began to laugh, "But it kept you from cheating because you couldn't use your Iruna sense." She flipped her light blonde hair and looked at him with her eyes glowing happily, "You can't smell me as much if I'm surrounded by flowers!"

The small girl turned on a heel and began to skip away, but before she did, she looked back and smiled, "Thank you for playing with me Raiden!" She then skipped away and her footsteps were barely heard. Raiden laughed lightly before treading over to a bench to sit down. His younger sister Lumaria had loved playing in the gardens while he and his older sister, Yumi, was outside tending to the assortment of roses.

Lumaria had a dream to become a botanist like her sister. Yumi at the age of 19 had one of the best flower shops in their whole town. She could make any flower any color using her Iruna skill.

"An Iruna," his adopted father explained to them, "Is a skill that no mortal possesses. They are unique and make you who you are. Every Irunara, or possessor of an Iruna, has an enhanced sense of smell, hearing, and sight." He further explained. "Irunara are the people who possess Irunara."

Raiden's adopted father had the skill of Alchemy. He could change earth's materials into precious jewels or gold by simply holding the material and focusing extremely on the object he wants it to become. His adoptive mother had the Iruna of mind reading. She could tell as soon as he was brought home when he was lying, so he never dared to try. Raiden's older sister Yumi had the skill of botany. Yumi's hands could delicately touch any plant to produce the most beautiful offspring of the plant. She could make a pink rose yellow with the touch of her hands or kill it with a blow of her breath. Lumaria's skill had not yet developed, because of her young age, but she already has a great skill with flowers.

Raiden however hated his Iruna. His Iruna was something no one had ever seen in the entire existence of the Irunara. His voice. Raiden sighed as he looked up at the night sky. People had always treated him differently. They would carefully observe him in school as he would sing. No one truly knew the extent of his powers. They only knew that his voice was like a Siren's, but much more deadly and soothing. When he would sing, no mortal could resist and even the strongest of willed couldn't escape his voice.

Someone yawned off in the distance. A teenage girl stood in her black silk pajamas rubbing her eyes before looking at her younger brother.

"Raiden...why are you up so early?" she whined as she slowly trudged over to Raiden's side and sat down. "You have school tomorrow-"

"I don't want to go to school tomorrow. I hate school." He pouted as he put his feet on the table in front of him. His sister frowned and nudged his feet off the table.

"Rai, you're fifteen, no one wants to go to school at your age." She lectured before turning to her side and looking at the black rose. Yumi slowly touched the inside of the rose changing it to red.

"But I hate it. It is so... stupid how the separate me from other Iruna and normal kids. I'm stuck with all the Class One Irunara. Every Irunara I know at that school is..." he trailed off.

"Stuck-up?" Yumi said as she turned her head back to look at Raiden. Raiden perked up and looked at Yumi, "Yeah! They act like they're too good for me and the other normal kids in this school. I'm out cast because of my Iruna and the teachers are afraid of me."

Yumi chuckled as she plucked the rose, "Well, wouldn't that make you want to go to school?" She twisted the rose in her hands, "You basically rule the school with your Iruna, and with your power-" she said lowering her voice, "You could take over that school and eliminate anyone who bugs you."

Raiden's bit his lip as he tried to hold back a laugh.

People never truly understood Raiden. He was that weird orphan kid taken in by a family of Irunara like him. But he was different from them. In this world, people classified others into three groups: Non-Irunara, these were the people without the enhanced abilities of Irunara, Irunara Class Two, people who had common abilities gained by Irunara and enhanced senses, and Irunara Class One. Class One Irunara were the different Iruna holders. Every Iruna was different and they were considered the unknown, feared, and highest among Irunara. They had perfect Irunara and usually royalty as parents. Raiden didn't know who he was, but people automatically classified him as Class One and no one dared go near him.

Unsuccessfully, he began laughing, "As if! I'd only do that if I'd want to go to Irunara jail and be examined like a lab rat." After laughing, he looked down at his hands and frowned.

Yumi's green eyes flickered dimly with sadness, "Raiden..."

He quickly stood up and looked back at her, "Don't worry about me Yumi." He smiled again, "I'll be fine." Raiden trudged down the garden pathway and to the doorway.

"Don't think I'm letting you not go to school still!" she shouted to him. He stopped and puffed a cloud of air before turning around and facing her, "I didn't think you would..." The mansion loomed above him as he dashed down the moonlight filled hallway and back into his dimly lit room.

"Like people care if I go or not." He sighed. Raiden reached up on a shelf for his gutair. He slowly walked out on the balcony in his room and under the moonlight he played a delicate tune, singing lightly and beautifully. It made you feel as if you were floating on a cloud while sitting next to an angel that sang slowly to you. Yumi watched from below as she smiled and listened contently to the hypnotic tune. She was trapped in a male siren's song.
