I Remember

His death left me crying every night
With him gone I am truly alone in this world
All I have left is this old letter or his
Found among his belong
I still see the flashing lights
Remember how the stormy nights had no sound
How my tears stung my cheeks
I remember his smile
The way he used to laugh at me when I came home some nights
Dripping wet since I had forgotten my umbrella
Those are the night I want to remember
Not those cold lonely ones
With the haunting memories
These dark endless nights that are forever mine
But to close my eyes and remember
