Invitation Letters

An invitation letter is more personal in comparison to a printed card. This is a letter which can be used for both personal and business use. It can be anything an invitation for a wedding / reception or an invitation for a party. The time, date and venue of the party should be clearly mentioned in your letter.

Invitation letter serves two main purposes: First one is to invite the person to the event and secondly, to ensure that the person will be attending the event. It should be written in a positive tone. Always write as if, it’s going to be a pleasurable occasion. Send your letter two weeks or more in advance. If you don’t expect any gifts then you should indicate it in your letter. Your invitation letter should include:

Name of the sponsor
Specify exactly who is invited
Date, address, and time of the event
Tell something about the event
Provide a map if location is difficult to find
Specifications about dress code
Your phone number

The main purpose of writing an invitation letter is to invite a guest. Introduction should be provided in the starting of the letter which will allow the host and sender to introduce them. If writing a professional invitation then it should be written in a formal tone. A simple background of the individual or company can be provided in this part of the letter. Invitation Letter can be written for marriage, exhibition, job, business acceptance, Christmas party, birthday party, business event, fund raising event, any other Party etc.

Before sending your invitation letter, proof read your letter completely and you should ensure that there is no punctuation, grammatical or spelling errors. Using these tips, one can easily write an effective personal and professional invitation letters.
